She's talking about the qualifications of Owens and Estrada, and what the Constitution says about advise and consent of judges.

From the Constitution..... Seems the President Nominates and with the advice and consent of the Senate he then Appoints them..... [my bold]

He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law:

I think that is why another order is issued by the President appointing the Judges once the Senate does it's advice and consent function.

I like Kay Baily, but she's dead tired and it's only 9PM. Hope she doesn't have the 3AM slot.

So when is Sen. Santorum due up?

I like that man, and I'm waiting for more good things from him.

OMG..........it's a real word??? Well, I know one thing that she just did that IS wrong: using Roberts' Rules of Order, you NEVER, EVER "turn it over to" somebody, you ALWAYS, ALWAYS "recognize" somebody!

All they really need is a zip code.

Here is my letter to Srs. Feinswine and Boxah,

Dear Senators Feinstein and Boxer,

As a fifth generation Californian I am dismayed at the demagoguery of declaring the President's nominations "extreme" when the only criterion for the epithet appears to be adherence to the letter of the Constitution. You are the extremists, for your license with the law. Cease. Please allow an up or down vote upon the President's nominees.

Thank you,

Mark Edward Vande Pol

Yes, and note that treaties have a 2/3 majority requirement. Nothing about a supermajority or sixty votes or anything other than a simple majority for nominees.
