Not to be naive, but if Haley has more votes with the House still give it to Musgrove?Didn't this issue arise in the VT Gov election last year, where the GOP candidate was under 50% and the Rat-controlled legislature selected the Gov? They did the right thing. Hopefully, that will repeat here as well, is Haley's below 50%.

How many states will have Republican governors if Mississippi goes GOP tonight? Sorry for a dumb question. Cold meds are winning out. I'm near Mississippi, the river that is, in Minnesota. D*mn cold and D*MN cold. Go get 'em Haley. These governorships are important wins. Our guv, Tim Pawlenty, is a godsend for conservatives.

Yes, I did, thank you. I had to take care of a few other things, too.
I can't believe how big the thread got while I was gone!
AAAAH has posted a wonderful thread.

That must've been Kentucky. From 1991 to 1999, MS was governed by Kirk Fordice (R)

Harrison regularly gives votes to their RAT congressman, Gene Taylor, so this is no surprise. IMHO, Rankin and DeSoto are the keys. If Barbour is 70% or better in both of those, it's over.

No, I missed that! I believe it though.
In reference to Barbara Blackmon's candidacy for Lt. Gov., the NYT said that MS had never elected a black person to statewide office. That's also a damn lie. MS had several during Reconstruction. In fact, we even had a black Lt. Gov. then (A.K. Davis). But I guess since these fellows were Black Republicans, the NYT doesn't count them.

Not true, Len -- they had parliaments way before Operation Iraqi Freedom. They're democratizing not because they fear US invasion, but because they want to be rich. Just because the rooster crows doesn't mean he caused the sunrise.
To: Alas Babylon!
According to the cia factbook (www.cia.gov), the population of Iraq is approximately 29 million of which 97% are Muslim, 3% Christian. Of those who are Muslim, 60-65% are Shia and 34-37% are Sunnis. The percentage among Kurds of Shia versus Sunnis is also approximately 2 Shia for every 1 Sunni. In other words, the most problematic part of the population consists of a little more than 1,000,000 people (35% of 29 million). With 100,000 troops stationed in Iraq, we are fighting this war with a 10:1 ratio against us. Considering those odds, we're doing a pretty good job with casualties as low as they are.

There's an art gallery upstairs in a building across the street from the Post Office. Several artists have studios and share the gallery. Check it out and you will see what I mean. My son is one of those artists. Extremely weird.

Why is Fox News calling this race too close to call? Are there particular voting pockets which are critical which have yet to report?
