I'm hoping a Bush win, coupled with some SC retirements makes some southern Dem senators think hard about what's more important: NARAL or their seat.

"I wouldn't be too sure about Landrieu, we nearly ousted her in 2002."
Mega-dittoes on that. Landrieu's 2002 numbers, in historical context, were not good for an incumbent Louisiana senator running for re-election. They were even worse considering just how weak a candidate Suzie Terrell was.
She can be ousted. A pity we've gotta wait 5 more years for another chance to prove it.

If Barbour is elected Governor, do you think Lott will resign his seat in the senate?

Any southern state will vote in a true black conservative.
In fact, they'd love to. It's a twofer.
They win and they can crow about doing a "good thing".

I have no such inside information. I doubt he'd resign now, bc it would look like he caved to the NAACP.

AAAAH, thanks to WKB and his "on the spot" reporting. He's a stubborn one --- hasn't bitten yet.
