DLM is the only reason I have Showtime. Guess I will have to wait for the DVD's. If SHowtime will air this movie, I am cancelling.
To: Maelstrom
This isn't a boycott of CBS though, it's a boycott of Viacom.Hate to break this to you, but CBS is owned by Viacom.

While some downplay this, this is a huge victory for patriotic Americans everywhere! We have spoken, and CBS was forced to listen. This victory will drive LIBERALS MAD!!! Awesome job FREEPERS!!!
Keep in mind, the mis-informed masses out there won't see this on CBS and form a negative opinion...Showtime is an entertainment venue, it's subscription based, and not many people even have the service. I bet they do get some cancelations....
VICTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This on Drudge, now:
VIACOM CHAIR SUMNER REDSTONE EXPRESSED GRAVE CONCERN FOR NETWORK BROADCAST...
WILL AIR ON SHOWTIME UNCUT [WITH AIDS QUOTE ONLY DELETION]...
CBS will issue press release early in morning; Robert Greenblatt, head of SHOWTIME will announce that SHOWTIME will air the telepic. Bob Ackerman the Director has said he will re-edit some portions of the film for SHOWTIME. CBS to write-off $9 million...
To: zencat
I'm all for it, but there will be no end to the cries of censorship from the liberals. What censorship?
It's their choice to drive off the cliff.
Or not.

Total for this search: $77,200... The media isn't liberal though, that's just a figment of our imagination.

Generally, I would agree.
But on those days when you're over a friend's house, he's got the barbeque going, and he's got the ice chest full of stuff that he bought, and you reach in and the beer is a "bud," then it's OK.
My point? I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it, but free beer is always cool, even if it's bud.

I think it's wise to take into account that liberalsim as we know it now didn't jsut show up overnight. It crept in over 40 long years. Now the pendulum is swinging back to the right (I do believe it's somewhat a cyclical thing) but much quicker than liberalism took hold. That's because leftism prospers while people are asleep, while conservatism kicks in when they wake up.

CBS should still be held accountable if this fable is broadcast on any medium!
All advertisers on CBS should be constantly reminded of the CBS partial birth creation!
To: mewzilla
Yup...and by boycotting CBS, we're boycotting part of Viacom.
So, as I said...
...we just need to make sure the world knows the superbowl is going down because CBS is owned by Viacom.

Even though he has given a lot of money to "National Cable & Telecommunications Assn I'm sure he has no intention of benefiting personally.
Oh, where is that sarcasm button when you need it?

"Uncut?!? "You know I think I would rather it be shown uncut. The more ridiculous it is, the more likely people will realize it's a hatchet job.
I think if they had cut out the most objectionable part but still had a movie that made him look like a bafoon, that have been more convincing.

This will become a left wing classic like "All of the Presidents men. It will be on Show Time for awhile. Then it will be aired on the same cable channels that show "All of the President's Men" several times each year. However, those are small audiences which are probably getting smaller every day.
I did my protest a little differently. I sent a short email to Fidelity, Van Guard and the manager of every other mutual fund that we own with a simple message. "In these days of investigation of Mutual Funds, your mutual funds had best not own stock of any company that sponsors this lying BS about President Reagan on CBS! No response is necessary from you, my response will an instant selling of any fund which owns these sponsors."
