Are you planning to vote for him again? No, he is not. He can't wait to send him back to Texas!

"Conservative revenge?" More like conservative indifference...I don't think anybody forecast just what an embarrassment Clinton would be, or how neglectful he would be of National Security.

Ultimately our elected officials are accountable to the laws -- by the presence of elections. Were you applauding the efforts of the Democrats to impeach and remove President Reagan? After all, there were allegations of wrong-doing, and if another President got removed so close to Nixon's removal, then so be it and let the chips fall where they may, eh?

"Holding his feet to the fire?" It's our duty as voters...celebrate him for his triumphs and demand more when he sells himself and this Country short.

Have you decided your vote for 2004? I am just curious.
To: Valentine_W
I'm voting in a week for governor, plus others in Kentucky.
I never violate the sanctity of the ballot box.
To: Fred Mertz
Ok.
Have a very nice evening.

"Ultimately our elected officials are accountable to the laws -- by the presence of elections." Losing their offices does not prevent politicians and their subordinates from being held accountable to our legal system. Traficant went to jail for a lot less than selling nuclear secrets to the Chi-coms.
"Were you applauding the efforts of the Democrats to impeach and remove President Reagan? After all, there were allegations of wrong-doing..."
If the DemonRATS really had anything that would stick to Reagan, do you honestly believe they wouldn't have prosecuted him...or impeached him? Of course they would have...but he didn't break any laws. Same reason they didn't prosecute Nixon...he didn't break any laws. Clinton and his minions broke scores of laws, but Pubbies are too weak-kneed to hold him/them accountable. That's a lotta the reason we spent so many years as the minority party despite being right on the issues, lack of a killer instinct.
"...and if another President got removed so close to Nixon's removal, then so be it and let the chips fall where they may, eh?"
Like I said, Reagan didn't do anything close to impeachable; however, Clinton most certainly did...were you against Clinton's being impeached? Were you against him being found guilty and removed? If he had been, do you really believe the country would have been endangered if Gore had become the POTUS?

It is not a question if "Dubyuh" as you call him, can do no wrong. It is that I have not forgotten the wrongs of 8 yrs of Clinton. President Bush(as I call him)has the toughest job, in the toughest times right now. The dims talk about President Bush having no plan on Iraq. Well they are completly wrong, and extremely shortsighted on what he is doing. He prefers it that way, and just goes on and does the job he was elected to do!! His priorities are in order, his morals are in order, and the people helping him are of the highest caliber. You can not say one of these about a dim, alas they always have their finger in the wind.!!

Bush hosted Ramadan dinner at White House
That is good.
Are these thread titles your blatherings, by the way?
- "Our President is a Criminal"
- "Bush is a Whore for the democrats and a Traitor to conservatives"
- "Bush gives aid and comfort to the communist enemy North Korea - Now the socialist wants to feed North Korea USING OUR MONEY"
- "Showdown in Montgomery Is Bush even a Christian? Or is that why he takes no stand?"
- "Time for a real conservative to go after the GOP nod in the Primary - Send Bush back to liberal-Land"
- "GEORGE BUSH IS THE UN MAN AND LAURA BUSH IS THE UN LADY - DISGUSTING THE BOTH OF THEM"
- "George W Bush and his dad take the American people for Suckers"
- "I blame the right wing and Bush White House for the attack on Rush Limbaugh"
- "Gutless Republicans - it's time to throw the Republicans out of the majority in the senate"

Are you one of those Clinton Conservatives (the analog of the Reagan Democrats) who enabled him because of this accountability stuff? Did his accountability, or lack of it, hurt his reelection chances?
Exactly why would the GOP (or anyone for that matter) ever bother to worry about being held accountable if they never have to earn worry about earning my vote?
Use your vote in the primaries and elections to help elect people you agree with and to replace those you don't like. But, don't do anything that will empower the Liberals. It will only make you more angry.
Are you saying that the GOP will "do the Right thing(s)...
Will the Democrats?

"Dubyuh" as you call him...President Bush(as I call him)" I mean no disrespect and am sure I would call him "President Bush" were I to meet him in person...Dubyuh is actually a term of endearment for me and many others.
"I have not forgotten the wrongs of 8 yrs of Clinton."
Nor have I, and I am eternally grateful to Bush for saving us from 4 years of Algore.
"President Bush has the toughest job, in the toughest times right now. The dims talk about President Bush having no plan on Iraq. Well they are completly wrong, and extremely shortsighted on what he is doing."
I've never really had any quarrel with Bush's performance in the War on Terrorism...in fact, I think history will judge him quite kindly on foreign policy. My beef is that he's not showing the same Grand Vision when it comes to scaling back the Federal Leviathan.
"His priorities are in order, his morals are in order, and the people helping him are of the highest caliber."
Two outta three ain't bad...Dubyuh's foreign policy team is splendid, but the domestic folks need to learn to cut some costs, imho...MUD

Yes, I was fully in favor of removing the Clintons from office, and when it didn't come about in the Senate I was not pinning all hopes upon President-elect Bush being vindictive and persecutorial about it in January 2001. He campaigned on a plaform of restoring national honor and national reconciliation and Christian forgiveness and made good on his promises.
To: EternalVigilance
So your solution is to vote for socialism-lite? Just another round of the same old crapola we just went through with RINOld vs McClintock... The pubbies will NOT give us a candidate we can be PROUD of so we reward them by rolling over and voting for them anyway. GOOD thinking. I really thought you had more gumption than that. Pity.

More like conservative indifference...I don't think anybody forecast just what an embarrassment Clinton would be, or how neglectful he would be of National Security.I agree. But many of us voted to reelect Bush even though he ran a lousy campaign, the "read-my-lips" fiasco, etc because we saw all the baggage that Clinton had and his poor record as Governor.

There is no choice.
Why expend our precious and scanty resources to fight a fight that can't be won?
To: dcwusmc
What do you propose we do? I'll listen.
To: dcwusmc
Listen to yourself: "The pubbies will NOT give us ..." That sort of passive whining is okay for liberals to engage in, dc, but try better next time.

"I was not pinning all hopes upon President-elect Bush being vindictive and persecutorial about it in January 2001." LOL...once again, we will just have to agree to disagree as I do not believe holding folks accountable to Justice is vindictive and/or persecutorial.
"He campaigned on a plaform of restoring national honor and national reconciliation and Christian forgiveness and made good on his promises."
The first two, yes...as for Christian forgiveness, I don't recall that in his platform or speeches, but if he did say that, why the heck aren't we forgiving poor Mr. bin Laden?! Clinton's actions in Waco and Kosovo resulted in many more dead than bin Laden's actions did, and Clinton's inaction with regards to bin Laden makes him partially to blame for the WTC/Pentagon deaths as well.
