Historically, Jews have been held in low esteem, from the mid 19th century, in America. The first Jews here, were mostly Sephardic and more or less treated well. When the early German/Jewish immigrants came here, the Sephardic Jews joined the WASAPS against them. One of the founders of the Union League was a Jew, who banned the German Jews from membership.
Leo Franks' lynching, was NOT an isolated case!
Jews have been restricked, until a few decades aqgo, from going to most colleges/universities, there were quota systems in place, at the few colleges ( oustide of Brandise, which is a college founded BY Jews ) that would even take them, and they were NOT allowed to join most clubs of any kind, live in various neighborhoods all over this nation, and even forbidden to hold certain jobs/work in certain firms. It was ONLY in the past decade or so,that most clubs in Chicago loosened their proscriptions against Jewish membership.
Almost ALL of the Jews, who emmigrated to America, prior to the 20th century, were Republican. The later immigrants, mostly from Russia and Poland, became Dems and their progeny remainedx so, to this day. Many of them were Marxist/Socialists, who were nominally Jewish and their progney even MORE secular. To these people, politics and Dem politics in particular, was/ IS their religion!
And no, I am not Jewish; just a student of history.
Before WWII, people never believed that nations would ever drop bombs on civilian targets.
But very soon, they were doing so, right on up to dropping atomic bombs.
Never become so used to the thin veneer of civilization that you think it permanent--because it only works so long as a people are fat and happy.
But make them suffer, make them angry, and they will turn--and they will find some holy justification to murder their fellow man.
I have noted the same thing myself, we do a FReep every year on Israel Day against the Palis, since Amur Jurban (ANSWER) assulted a Rabbi in Brooline several years ago, most of us are Christian and most of them are Jews, in name only, interesting mix.
