Just damn.If you want on the new list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
[As i mentioned, the B/C & JD! lists are going to float into and out of whack over the forseeable future, while I try to cobble a rig back together for myself. My apologies for any incovenience or misunderstandings in this time frame. New signups/removals may be flaky in this time-frame as well; please bear with me, and keep in mind you may have to FReepmail me more than once for me to get it done. Thanks again!]

I firmly believe a parent should use cameras like this to record how their children are handled in the babysitter's care, but I also firmly believe the cameras would be much more of a deterrent if you simply told the babysitter that you had internal monitoring of your entire house for insurance purposes.

Fort Lauderdale attorney Allison Gilman said that slowing the tape, which shows Claudia Muro, 29, shaking the 5-month-old back and forth so aggressively that the baby's legs and arms whip back and forth, would likely show Muro ''playfully'' treating the infant. I'd suggest that attorney Gilman allow one of her children to be "played" with the same way her client "played" with that baby and see if she thinks it's just fine and dandy.

As a mother and godmother, I never shook a five month old baby so hard causing the arms and legs to whip back and forth. Throw this witch in prison and once released, send her back to her homeland.

Are you suggesting that an attorney with a murder-suspect as a client should volunteer a relative or family member for the same treatment?

The attorney is doing her job. One attorney that I know once told me, "It's a thankless job. One minute somebody is blaming you for everything that's wrong about life, and the next minute they're begging you to do everything you can because they mucked-up their own."

When they'd test their theories of the case on me, about 75% of the time I'd look at them and say, "that's BS. No jury in the world is going to buy that." And 99% of the time I was right.

it is really simple. duplicate the tape under controlled conditions.
Your welcome.

she does not try cases she only settles cases.Sounds like one of the attorneys I worked with--he was King of the Plea Bargains. He especially enjoyed it when he'd hear the ADA in charge of traffic cases was out for the day--the one that chanted "guidelines" in every DUI case. He'd set land speed records down to the DA's office to see who was subbing.

Now if this was the mother it would have just been a failed late term abortion.

I am thinking about this a lot lately. I think we all need to be very concerned about the new trend of people being convicted in the media on black & white, shaky, weird-angle surveillance camera footage. Yes, this is evidence enough for cops to arrest and investigate, but without actual abnormal injuries on the victim, I think there's a good chance she's innocent of wrongdoing. You know I want the death penalty for child-abusers. That means I take very seriously the question of establishing guilt. A baby who has been abused like this one apparently was should have clear signs of shaken baby syndrome, with broken bones and brain damage. You can't argue with biophysics like you can with grainy black and white security footage. Sudden large changes in momentum on fragile little people will do damage, when the act is repeated again and again--luck doesn't obtain.
If I watched movies (which I don't) I would have seen Arnold S. kill dozens and dozens of people. But who believes he's really a murderer? (Besides Grey Davis supporters...)
Even if it isn't deliberately set up that way, a camera can make things appear to happen that have not happened.
And if it is....
http://www.downstairs.freeserve.co.uk/vpics/mepyrmd.jpg (I tried just posting the photo but it's HUGE and I can't remember how to set the size smaller.)
What if the parents are guilty of trying to frame this woman? Look around some of the Photoshop sites. Video is harder and far more time-consuming to fake but if you don't care how well done it is....
Or even if they are sincere, what if she is innocent?

I'm a tech-head and work for a major chip manufacturer. I'm very familiar with video capture, Net cams, and related technology.
Now that I've established my cred, at least as much as it can be on the web, this "Nanny" should be shot. Tried, and convicted of attempted murder. Even with the reduced framerate, resulting in the jerkiness of the video, there is more than enough there to be able to tell that she isn't just "playing" with the child. At one point she even open-hand slaps the child.
There is never a justification for slap a child that is only months old. Never. Ever. If this had been where I could see it, I would have applied the beat down on the Nanny right then and there. If this had been my child, there wouldn't be enough left of the Nanny to identify her without having to dig up her dental records.
