I think the major difference is that while they might promise *similar* sounding things, president Trump actually intends to carry out his promises, unlike Rubio of Jeb, who imagine promises as just a means to get elected.

It doesn’t exempt him. But he made those disrespectful comments toward Trump as if the POTUS deserves no respect from the senate, the senate majority leader, and a guy who’s granted an enormous favor from POTUS by having his wife placed in a powerful job

McConnell is not going to be fired. Nor is his wife. They’re going to continue being granted favors. He gets away with being super powerful because he has a weak physical appearance

He is despicable for insulting Trump. The NYT and Schumer and SNL we expect this from. That many, including we freepers expect I from McConnell goes a long way to explaining how trump got into the White House the republican congress is terrible. Any insult or protest toward Trump is an insult toward the Electrolux process. He won by a majority of the electorate. McConnell, bully. The bully turtle

Hey Mitch.

Where the hell are tax cuts? Regulatory reform? Repeal CrapCare?

Get busy! Trump can’t do everything himself.

McConnell’s comments were a red flag to me as well but I think he is trying to calm down the Senate GOPe to get their votes for confirmations & coming legislation.

There is so much hash being slung in the Senate they may even believe what McConnell’s saying. If not they can still use it as cover when they need to defend voting to support Trump based policies (to their donors/constituents/Never Trump collegues.

Yeah, well the headline is broad in a "fake news" and "misleading" way. McConnell's comment had to do with "troubles," in that all administrations have "troubles" early on.

Headlines are supposed to be misleading, I think. It is rare to read one that is not misleading.

But he’s not trying to. The huuuge departure from my expectations has been the cabinet. This isn’t a milk toast moderate cabinet. For the major positions this is a Dream Team that makes the lefties heads explode.

Arrogant POS. I was thinking of commenting the other day how Trump`s actions the past 3 month have demonstrated why Trump was clearly the only choice this past election, for conservatives and patriotic Americans in general. But I decided to be diplomatic and not reopen old arguments, in particular because it seemed to me that it was already self evident and painfully obviouse how weak the rest of the GOP field was in comparison to Trump.

But I guess Mitch McConnell is stuck on stupid and always will be. And he`s arrogant enough to now want to try and take the credit for the sucesses that Trump has achieved in spite of him. I don`t think I`ve ever seen such a useless waste of oxygen as Mitch McConnell.

If getting the GOP to finally start implimenting the people`s agenda, was so easy, then why did we all have to wait so long to see it happen? We have taken back our government in SPITE of these lowlife RINO losers like McConnell, not because of them.

None of these candidates (Bush, Cruz, Rubio, etc.) could have done the deals Trump has already made, and few if any would have even tried. The F35 project is a perfect example. Could you imagine Cruz or Rubio getting Lockheed to reign in their costs? Forget about it! Same with standing up to the left wing media onslaught.

McConnell is a weak little b-tch who needs to be slapped down hard and taken out (politically speaking, of couse).

Rant over - for now.

Agreed Mr. X

McConnell throwing shade at McCain, because he can't just yank him from committees as much as I would like him to.

Out of touch and as uninformed as the rest of the establishment.

His wife should be fired, and he should be marginalized!

At this juncture of our history, ALL Republicans should be on board with President Trump and the American people.

If they cannot jump on the Trump Train, they need to be shoved to the side!

Lead, follow or get out of the way!

It almost looks like Mitch is trying to tell them that Trump isn’t the bogeyman they think he is - hard to tell when McConnell and Ryan open their mouths what the exact intent may be at the time. Don’t trust either of them but there have been a few times when they actually talked and acted supportive.
