The typical caucus participant is the least likely person to vote for Trump. His totals will be considerably less than currently are reflected in the polls. My guess is that Cruz will win in Iowa.
As for courageous leadership that might tell the Iowa Republican cabal to stop backing hacks and stealing the silverware long enough to help slow the slide into hell, that has been a commodity lacking in Iowa's GOP governors since Bob Ray made a virtue out of moderation. Kim Reynolds does indeed wield a lot of unnoticed power. Joni Ernst was her pick, and the plan was for Joni to eventually become lieutenant governor and then governor. Ernst surprised them by getting elected to the Senate when the plan was that it would just be her introduction to a statewide audience.
