..this was a strictly political move by a confident liberal president pushing a liberal gay agenda It was a desperation move. Obama is in trouble and he knows it. He felt he had to shore up gay donations and support and it cost him votes to do it.

For some people, skin color is all that matters. This is more true for blacks than for any other Americans.

To African Americans, Gay marriage is LOW PRIORITY. The priority is still ECONOMIC. Which is to say -— What are you going to GIVE for me in terms of welfare, housing, education, jobs, etc. I agree. Obama could give Barney Franks a BJ on national prime time TV, and they would still vote for him, because of economic issues.
