ACK! I have a big workload waiting on my desk and had night school tonight. I'd better load up on caffeine tomorrow morning.

Unless there is a late-breaking surge for Ward in Boise, Labrador will win.

That’s a much lower vote count. I wonder why KTVB is so far ahead for the SOS office?

Yeah, Ward would have to grab most of the votes still out to make up the difference. I think I’m gonna call it for Labrador.

I just remembered something about Ada County- part of it is in the 2nd district.
In a realted note, Mike Simpson is pulling under 60% of the vote in his primary. No doubt the Tea Party had something to do with it.

Yeah, Simpson is definitely doing poorly for an incumbent at just around 57%.

Other than the Resident Commissioners from PR, Labrador would indeed be the first Republican Congressman of Puerto Rican descent. If I’m not mistaken, the closest a Republican of PR descent has come to being electedcas a U.S. Representative was Joe Negron in tbe FL-16 in 2006 (when he couldn’t overcome the handicap of having to ask voters to vote for Foley, who could not be replaced on the ballot).
But Labrador is not merely of PR descent; he was born and raised in PR, and didn’t move to Nevada with his mother until he was 12 or so. The only PR-born Republicans who have won GOP House nominations in the past decade were, unless I’m forgetting someone, Jesus Caquias in TX-27 and Perfecto Rivera in WI-04.

Big question is now will the Ward supporters refuse to support Labrador in the general (a la Sali) ?

I sure hope not. McCain and the NRCC created Ward; I hope that they can convnce him to endorse, and campaign for, Labrador.
