The Bush Brothers both won sizable hispanic votes in their Governorship bids.

You're really dense. Your sorry poem (in bad Spanish) was pulled once before, why do you think it won't be pulled again?

And it isn't even a "poem", either!

I would much prefer an intrinsic philosophical shift within the ranks of Hispanic Americans to the right and conservatism, based on their becoming more affluent or them becoming outraged by the social decay agenda of the liberal Democrats,

RATHER THAN

an intrinsic philosophical shift within the White House and Republicanism to the middle/left in an effort to adapt and pander and create policies that will give us just what the Democrats would do, only on a less ambitious scale or slower pace.

Can any conservatives truly argue against this?

Congratulations. I am sure your in-laws also took the LEGAL way to American residence and then American citizenship.

I am all for this way to approach it.

I am strongly opposed to any kinds of consideration, though, for those here who took illegal methods. We can not and should not reward that kind of behavior.

Your in-laws and the other law abiders deserve better than that!!!

This thread was never about illegals to begin with, but about Latin voters. Then again, you might be one who thinks they are one and the same.

If I were going to court Latin/Hispanic/Latino/whatever voters, I would target the small business owners and show them how the Republican party is more favorable to small businesses. There are a lot of small businesses owned and operated by Latin/Hispanic/Latino/whatever entrepreneurs. Those are the ones I would go after if I was a GOP strategist.

Not a bad idea. Small business owners traditionally get screwed by big government, nosy liberal types. I think small businesses get screwed regardless of the ethnicity of their ownership.

I'd also do this in English, rather than pander and contribute to 'linguistic entitlement'; in other words, not facilitating communication in a way so a person has no motivation to learn the prevailing language of the land. In this case, the language of the land being English.

Except, unless the GOP is in charge of both houses of Congress and the White House to pass the tax policies that will create a climate so that Hispanics (and other groups) can become more affluent, the affluence arguably will not occur.

The fact is, to make the Hispanics more affluent and in the middle class (and to make them, by your theory, more likely to vote Republican), we need Republicans in office to pass more tax cuts.

I see. You mean we need to have our policies and principles go left to moderate 'so we can get power'. Is that it? Otherwise the Latinos won't vote for the GOP and we won't have political power? Then, once we get power, we can reverse course and institute conservative ideals and policies?

This makes for great humor and entertainment.

So to clarify, you prefer the Bold Red text approach, compared to the Bold text approach, above?

With the noises you've made about going third-party elsewhere on this forum (the Gulke threads in particular), particularly in light of facts that proved no reason for those noises to have even been made, you're sure not the type to dismiss points brought up by others on the subject of helping conservatives win elections.

The fact is, the GOP is quite good on tax cuts and the economic issues that promote affluence. Very good in fact. The key is to get those folks in to enact the agenda, and that means selling a conservative agenda in a manner that more people buy it (spending their votes) than buy the agendas of the Left.

You might call it pandering. I call it winning.

You said you wanted to see Hispanics go Republican due to affluence. I outlined how to get there.

I answered. I guess you don't like the answer you got, because I said, elect Republicans and pass tax cuts so that it will be easier for Hispanics (and others) to gain said affluence.

Again, I fail to see what credibility you'd bring to the table on helping conservatives win elections, particularly with the way you jumped overboard from Bill Simon earlier on something that was completely overblown. By the way, the facts are on this thread:
