Nyahh! .. Don't fret!!! This is just foreplay before the real campaign starts in a few weeks.
The media is just clearing their nostrils so they can really breathe fire in October... When We Still Won;t Have a Budget!
Think Positive!!! Ignore the media and it's mindless repetition of attack ads that are intended to numb not inform the voters.
For every bad thing that happens to Simon, I just imagine 3 bad things that are going to happen to Davi$.
This will be a war of attrition in the end. The guy who gets the most voters out wins. Davi$ IS going to have a hard time convincing anyone to flip the lever for him, either way.

I don't care how innnocent Simon is here, or how personally separated he is from the case, is simply looks horrible. Any other year but this, people would probably let it roll right past them, not caring about the complexities of the case, but in the current atmosphere of corporate bankruptcies, accounting firms cooking books, the dive in the stock market, this is devasting for Simon. It's going to have to take much more political astuteness on his part than I've seen for him to survive this. And the other point is, this isn't some political hit, but a finding by a jury. Sure, they may be wrong, but the finding of a jury carries more weight than a Davis hit piece.
Maybe my attitude will change by the end of the day, or by next week, but I wish I had voted for Riordan -- that's how I feel right now.

This isn't a hit piece by Davis. This is a jury decision. That's what makes it so powerful....There will be a state budget by October. At some point, lack of a budget is going to start working against Republicans in the legislature. They will want to save their own bacon by October...And it's one thing to pat each other on the back here on FR, wink, and say, "Remind me not to read the Bee," but for the 99.9999% of the rest of the voters out there, they are not ignoring this. A coworker of mine this morning said that he will never vote for Simon now, and that it's amazing that someone can make a corrupt SOB like Gray Davis now look like a shoe-in for re-election. Simon is in trouble.

Channel 3 Distorts here in Sacramento is saying this is probably the end of Simon's career. They wish, he could murder someone and still be more trustworthy than Grayout.

The latest Simon issue "simply looks horrible."
Deep Breath ... Relaaaaxxxx ....
ME!! .. Not U!!!
LOL
I don't think the "average voter" gives a damn about the latest happenings. The attention span of anyone today is about 30 seconds , IMO

I don't think the "average voter" gives a damn about the latest happenings.I predict every poll taken after this news will show Simon at least 5% behind Davis. I will hate having to come back here to say, "I told you so."

That's never been high on the list of things I would do myself. I've have learned to let a lot of things go and accept things I didn;t particularly like. I find myself amidst a group of folks , some of whom, would imply Davi$ will win. He may win, .. It doesn't mean I have to like it, but frankly, I don't think most voters are currently that clued or tuned into the campaign and all this stuff we have seen so far.
To: NormsRevenge
Again, the thing is, while this jury decision is tailor-made for Davis' campaign, his campaign didn't engineer it. We can complain or diminish it all we want, by blaming a compliant left-leaning news media for over-blowing this, but the fact is, it's news; it happened; a jury decided against Simon's company; and today his name is splashed across every newspaper in the state tied to the word "fraud." Where is the good news in all of this?

Hey, Call ME an Eternal Optimist, OK.? FRaud? Let the legal process show who the bigger fraud is in this case as it winds thru appeals.
This is an opportunity for Simon to rise to the occasion. That's my gut reaction. Discount it all you want with facts, unfortunately, I don't think all the facts are in evidence quite yet.

Oh My!! Well, Please tell your friend about the Green Party... Why choose not to vote and poison the well even more? Davi$ is doing a fine job butchering the environment for dollars as IS.
To: NormsRevenge
Well, it's more than an opportunity for Simon. It's an imperative. I said earlier that I think he needs to go on TV and do a "Checkers" speech like Nixon in 1952. Davis couldn't have manufactured a better poison pill for the Simon campaign than a verdict of "fraud" by a jury.

Agreed on Simon doing a "Checkers" speech.. LOL
Knowing GraYouT , he would have to do one, too. I don't know if GraYouT is allowed to have a dog in his tiny condo, tho. He probably has a turtle with 2 tails.

More like a fish with three eyes.
To: NormsRevenge
Simon should go on TV and just go nuts, deny any wrong doing, and blame Davis for trying to make the "campain" about anything but my record. Lemons do make lemonade
