That's right.....you believe in a feeble God that can't ever accomplish his will when he wants to save someone.....

But doing what is right not what is politically correct is more important.

What is right may be to not rely on God to protect the country,
nor minimize the horror of the WTC by saying God did it
to teach us a lesson.  This undeclared war is having enough
problems keeping alive without our mythologizing it midstream.

"what new powers were requested in tonight's speech?"........Excellent question.

By not asking for new powers, many will be granted. This is a beautiful triangulation by Bush in an off-election year. The liberals will lapp this up like the dogs that they are.

Already the flocks are gathering behind The Great Bush Tree. Proof: Did anyone see Dasholes spew after the speech?

This is a new kind of politics baby. And, for once the Conservatives know what to do when they are holding the deck.

Adding another agency will only add to the current problems. If you can't understand how Washington works, then stay to what you really are good at.

We lost several thousand people on 9/11.

We can't actually add to the problems, can we?

What does "knowing how Washington works" have to do with anything? This is about protecting the American people.

It has nothing to do with your view of President ush as a globalist, either. It's about setting up a more efficient method of protecting my children-I like that idea.

NOT. We the people can take care of ourselves, thank you very much.

Tell that to the familes of the 9/11 victims, okay.

could you ask for this thread to be deleted.....or headline changed? It is NOT accurate.

Bush is creating a new cabinet level bureaucracy, expanding the budget, attacking foreign nations and our Bill Of Rights, tell me where I'm wrong.

Ouch darlin, I don't know wheather to leave you in your peaceful sleep, or wake you to a few facts. The communist press never reports these things, you have to do some digging.

So far the lame stream press does not report on just how many communities are in nose to nose fights with the EPA, all the mistakes and abuse of the BATF, and just how much is being confiscated from ordinary Americans in the War on Drugs, it runs in the billions they report, you decide.

Here are a couple of sites to get you started on the road to "What's Happnin Now".

http://www.fff.org/freedom/07951.asp

http://www.asappain.com/Seizures_Out_Of_Control.html

Might I suggest a google search of Assest Forfitures, or War on Drugs, innocent, victims.

It's impossibly hard to 'clean house', what with all those EEOC attorneys protecting bureaucrats,,as you know, since you 'know Washington'. Hope your job is safe.

Sure, the CIA and FBI and ATF and DEA and EPA and, hell, the FDA should all get together, share "intelligence," and start busting people.

If the intelligence is accurate and the people they bust are creeps planning to fly airliners into buildings full of people...then what is the problem?
It's the lack of intelligence, and pigs busting down the wrong doors that we don't want.

"What place does the US Coast Guard have in the DoT?

What about the governmet's organizion to this point caused the CIA and FBI to share their information?"

First the USCG has been part of the DOT since its begining. However it has ALWAYS been the primary HOMELAND DEFENSE AGENCY. It has a dotted line to DOD as well and has served in many military operations. Secondly, if the USCG belongs to anything its DOD, which if you do not know DOD is also charged with defending our homeland. We have just place in a new CINC. CINCNORTH, what do you think his responsibilities are going to be? Finally, you do not create another agency to stop the stove piping of intelligence. You get the agencies to stop stove pipping by ordering them to cut the crap, even if that means changing their leadership.

attacking foreign nations

What? You just absolutely hate him, don't you? That's the bottom-line.

You are making a real fool of yourself. We did not attack Afghanistan, we attacked the Taliban/opression. There is a big difference. They have free elections on the horizon.

Yeah, I like it too. Why in the heck do warrior types report to accountants (Border Patrol to Treasury). Makes no sense at all.

I like the fact that this was obviously a long-considered decision, and the willingness to make big changes when necessary. Listen up, naysayers: we have a NEW PROBLEM. New problems call for new solutions.

First the USCG has been part of the DOT since its begining.

I knew that. Does that make it right? They were only placed there because (1) they use boats (a mode of... transportation) and (2)we did not feel comfortable using the DoD function to do what they do, as it sends the legal representaion of a police-state.

>>>>>What I am proposing tonight is the most extensive reorganization of the federal government since the 1940s. During his presidency, Harry Truman recognized that our nation's fragmented defenses had to be reorganized to win the Cold War. He proposed uniting our military forces under a single Department of Defense, and creating the National Security Council to bring together defense, intelligence, and diplomacy. Truman's reforms are still helping us to fight terror abroad, and now we need similar dramatic reforms to secure our people at home.>>>>>>>>

"The regional governors now have direct control over their territories. Fear will keep the local Jihadists in line. Fear of this reorganization...."

And class, heres todays second lesson: Combining many departments together= less Government. Cost to operate combined departments= Lower: Duplication of procedures= Zero.
