Thanks! That is very interesting. I have read that Winston Churchill, at times, despaired for the survival of the free West before his death.

The claim by the Republican Party is that they are offering concessions and appeasements to political opponents in order to gain new memberships and expand the political "tent" to be more inclusive. In reality, the tent isn't getting any bigger, it's just had wheels attached to it so it can move around to cover non-conservative groups while abandoning the conservative support base because grass roots conservatives actually expect results for their support.

A lasting constituency is built on principles that offer a political vision of a good society. When these principles are sacrificed to pandering to interest groups and swing voters, constituencies are lost, not gained.

For such wise words would Mr. Roberts (whose book with Lawrence Stratton, The Tyranny of Good Intentions, should also be required reading for anyone who cares a damn about freedom, individual rights and sovereignty, and properly construed government as opposed to the improperly consecrated State) be denounced by only too many as a borderline nutball who is too "myopic" to see the "big picture" and too "impatient" to understand the reality that "incrementalism" is the only prayer we have - never mind that "incrementalism" means nothing more than going no further than part of the way to your destination from every stop you make, making it mathematically (and otherwise) impossible for you to reach your goal.

The road to Damnocratic hell is paved with Republican't good intentions.
