It appears that California has about 10,000 extra megawatts lined up for this afternoon than they expect to need. This isn't even going to be a close call.

You're right, there seem to be reserves. SO, why the warning? Perhaps the reserves graph that can be seen as the green line on
http://www.caiso.com/SystemStatus.html assumes the availability of those out-of-State supplies that are being diverted?

Methinks that this will be the first of many. According to the forecasts for the north valley, next week the temperatures may break 100...

Well, the Perfect Storm, as Robert357 described it on another thread, seems to be shaping up nicely!

YeeHaw!!! A direct quote from Simon I presume (giggle).
Might just as well inaugurate Gov Bill right now and put Davis out of his misery.

I saw that and there are indeed storm clouds on the horizon. While half of me does not want to see unecessary suffering by innocent citizens and businesses, the other half wants quite strongly to see accountability and the end of Grayout's political career. He is too corrupt to be allowed this or higher office...

No worries. Calpine (CPN) will supply power as needed. And, it will do so honestly.

Methinks that this will be the first of many. According to the forecasts for the north valley, next week the temperatures may break 100... OK I'll do my part. Setting my thermostat for 65.
Trying to remember if I left the belt sander and the table saw running before I left this morning.
Maybe I'll go home at lunch at catch up on the overdue arc-welding chores I've been putting off.

No, we're not going to give him squat ... just a swift kick in the butt on his way OUT of office.
Dump Davis!
