I wouldn't rescue the seeing eye dog of anyone either, because they can be replaced, tragic as the loss would be, they are likely covered by insurance against accidental death. At least, if I had to have one I would insure it

You're all heart.

"Better yet, why don't you do it with no real teacher, just reading material, like I did?"

Now, I am impressed! Read it, then said, "Seems easy enough. I think I'll go try it." A true American.

Tell me, which of the pictures is the dreaded laser scope of which you spoke earlier???

========================================================

THIS ONE

The new Cantilever Deer SX2’s unique base design allows you to aim with the rear adjustable sight with a fiber optic front sight. Or, fasten a red dot or conventional scope. You can fold down the rear sight and instantly sight down the groove in the base for quick pointing, fast, close action. The short, 22" fully rifled barrel handles slugs or sabots with excellent accuracy. The black, composite stock is impervious to all weather conditions.

====================================================

.....what's the 'red dot' mean to you? It's a laser to me. Please explain the difference between the "RED DOT" and the laser.

These animals don't stand a chance with these shotguns. Just remember to eat what you kill. Goodnight.

Sorry to disabuse you but a red dot is just that, it has a red dot instead of cross hairs, just the same as a regular scope,and usually does not come in the high power versions as scopes do.

YOur welcome.

It's a red dot. You look thru the scope and see a red dot instead of black crosshairs.

Apparently you don't know what a "laser" is. Go look it up.

If the red dot was actually light projected onto the target, it would probably be a laser. A "red dot scope" does not project light onto the target. May look similar to the shooter, but is practically very different.

Sure they do. Most animals are very good at not being around when you want to shoot them - ask any hunter.

Just remember to eat what you kill.

So hunting is OK with you? Am I allowed to enjoy hunting?

So, you are also against a clean shot? I guess you prefer hunters to miss? Maybe even hit the poor furry thing in the leg, eh? Just what does ensuring a well placed shot have to do with anything?

(done by others)

Good God! What more does it take to convince you of your own ignorance, and its danger to OUR rights. You know you only have a superficial understanding of this subject...or at least you know you're out of your league...so why do you keep trying to assert some sort of credibility. Are you so self-absorbed you think we can't tell that?

You might as well try to convince a meeting of the NAACP that you know more about being "black" than they do.

Ma'am, no one doubts your love of animals, and perhaps you do consider yourself a conservative. If so, and knowing you don't have much knowlege of hunting, do you not see how you are playing the part of the "useful idiot" for admittedly leftist organizations?

Looks like the red dot thing got cleared up... good.

The only thing I would add is that I have never seen a magnifying scope with a red dot reticle before. They are made for rapid target acquisition, point and shoot. I have been using one on my deer gun for about five years now, and really like it.

I have hesitated more than once to get involved in some of the discussions on FR, because of the strong (almost hateful) expressions of belief by some of our fellow Freepers.

Thank you... I totally understand! I took quite a long break from FR because of that - it seems to me to have mellowed in the meanwhile. One big pet peeve of mine was when newbies would make posting mistakes or, or ask an unorthodox question, or post something not realizing it was a topic that wasn't important to the majority of others and people would jump all over the person. What a great intro to this site, I would think. I would attempt to reason with them and ask them to bascially be nicer and more understanding of newbies, at least until it was obvious they were a shill or something... but usually it didn't work.

Why don't you just go to Safeway?

I don't get as much of a mental and physical challenge going to Safeway. And I don't taste the broad spectrum of beauty and sadness of life going to Safeway.

Besides we don't have Safeway here. ;-)

Try the inner cities or Native reservations for the sadness of life. Actually the public schools and in particular the faculty lounges are good places for your observations.

Those sad places are the result of human evil, not the natural process of the wild. That kind of sadness doesn't bring me in touch with creation.

I would have to hunt MORE to unstress myself after visiting those places.
