I found this thread by accident... :o)
Barb and I saw "We Were Soldiers" yesterday, it was very powerful and the best representation of what war is and how common men do uncommon things.

Sam Elliott had the best lines, the battle scene choreography was fantastic and Mel Gibson's portrayal of Col Moore was perfect.

Barb wanted to leave about half way through because the battle scenes were too graphic, she didn't leave...

Even this old curmudgeon teared up a couple of times...I'll buy the DVD.
