How many American apples are even sold here anymore? I'm looking at a can of apple juice I have and it says made from apples grown in Chile, Germany, and China. Do they have illegal aliens in those countries also to do the work no one else will do?
To: FITZ
Actually, nobody who enters the country illegally should be granted amnesty or any other type of benefit. This is all part of the process of defining citizenship down. Are you aware that the INS now calls applicants for citizenship customers?

I think that we should do away with the citizenship requirement for members of Congress and President - maybe we could get some illegal aliens to do the job for half the current cost.

So no matter that lawbreakers come to our nation, you are willing to give them sanctuary? We keep hearing liberals claiming the illegals are paying taxes and so should get amnesty. I'd like to see the evidence they are in fact paying taxes. I doubt more than one or two could produce a file income tax return for every year they lived and/or worked here.

The Invasion Resistance Force!
I did not vote for Bush, but there are plenty of friends of mine who did who are not supporting Bush on this issue.
Those who try to subterfuge the discussion of the effects of amnesty with screechings of racism and sheet ironing sound like Rainbow/SHOVE robots.
Pathetic and laughable for such self-styled "conservatives" to become Sharpton clones! What an embarrassment!

There might be a rare illegal who in spite of being paid cash under the table went ahead and paid federal and state income tax on his earnings, and also registered for the Selective Service as required. If anyone can find them ---I wouldn't care if they got amnesty ---but none of the others.

I see your point more clearly, now. Excellent suggestion.
To: Mercuria
I don't believe VA Advogado is a conservative. He's just someone here to attack anyone that doesn't accept the invasion, and dares to criticize it. His remarks are the typical liberal tactic of shutting up debate. He's on the wrong forum, because that ain't gonna happen here.

Wow...a pro-illegal immigrant, who has run out of arguments, pulls out the race card in a debate!
But that's only after having completely trounced him using simple conventional wit. Watch and learn something. But don't get too close to the fire or you too will get burned.
To: FITZ
However, it bothers me, that you want illegal immigrants to receive amnesty just because of a piece of paper. You seem to suggest that our existing law
may be circum-navigated just because of some work ethic. Yet the fact remains, even those that may have the piece of paper have lied to America and are outlaws for being here illegally.
It is ashame that some folks in America feel it is okay to allow outlaws into America thus further exascerbating our current problems.
To: FITZ
Add not having used taxpayer subsidized health and welfare services and public education and we might have a deal..

Add me to your list of those "opposed" to Bush's scheme.

"The Death of the West" should really be resonating throughout the (former) nation about now.
Nah, no one reads anymore. Besides, "everyone knows" that the author is a racist/sexist/fascist/nazi/antisemite (am I forgetting anything?).
Things will have to start getting really bad before people start waking up.

And they could pick apples when they were not in session!
It's a win/win proposition!

I've believed it ever since the New York Times published a story about Bush's plan last year. At that time I was blasted by the Bushbots for falling for a "liberal media lie" - I still waiting for an apology.
