You can be sure the illegal alien lobby in Washington (aka the Chris Cannon brigade) will do everything in their power to stop any federal support of mechanization. Unless there's a reason, however phony, for example the need for farm labor, then amnesties become more difficult. Illegal aliens use farm work as a steppingstone to get in, then move on to all those other jobs we won't do, like carpentry, construction, flying airplanes etc. Mechanization would take that away from them.

Do you usually just say whatever pops in your head or would you like to offer some evidence for this charge?
There's lots more but I know you're still busy ironing your sheet and reading American Patrol.

More like the "Hall of People who are Smart Enough to Know What is Going to Happen"....a group I am proud to be associated with.
Yes, when you're inside the crate of apples its easy to ignore your worms when you're surrounded by so many other with the same affliction.

I want to add this to the little thought to the discussion:
Without defined citizenship, sovereignty means nothing.
Without sovereignty, your vote means nothing.
Without citizenship and sovereignty, your rights mean nothing.

If they pay "taxes" as you say, how come they can send billions of dollars back home to Mexico?? I say it is because we support them, and their childrenWe should consider granting amnesty only to those who have filed an income tax return (proving they paid taxes) that Americans are required to do and who have obeyed every other law including those requiring auto insurance. I don't think very many will be able to produce a tax return for every year they lived and/or worked in America.

Very interesting article that you posted sars in reply #595.
There was no date when it was published but even the most "optimistic" forecast was that "maybe" that 10% of the Washington state apple crop would be automated in 8 years(2010).
Who picks the other 90% of the crop or would you let it rot on the tree?

I'm SHOCKED!! SHOCKED, I tell you!

The UFW and their allies are opposed to any federal funding in this area. Meanwhile, the taxpayers subsidize the heath and education costs of the illegals.

Yes, when you're inside the crate of apples its easy to ignore your worms when you're surrounded by so many other with the same affliction My "worms" are illegal immigrants---and they make it completely difficult for me to ignore them. Maybe if they would stop throwing dirty diapers in the street and spoke in English, I could ignore them.
To: VA Advogado
You obviously spent a lot of time to find what? A letter written by an immigration attorney who has a stake in maintaining mass immigration for profit. Where are the quotes? So Mr. Siskind writes some report, and of course that's the truth cos he said it. I'm impressed.
Let tell you, I'm Roman Catholic and I'm not the least bit offended even if it's true. This country was founded and made great by the principles of British Protestant heritage. Like it or not, that's a fact. I thank them that they let my ancestors in. But if they want to preserve the culture they created, I don't blame them one bit. Immigration is one thing, but every nation has a right to its way of life, and the rule of law is ours, as well as speaking English. It's been said a million times to you and every other illegal alien bleeding heart, what part of illegal don't you understand?
To: Dane
I suppose that you believe that we need 10 million illegals to pick apples and harvest vegetables. You still haven't answered my question - what do Americans get out of the Bush amnesty?

Are you on drugs? No, but based on all of your postings, I am willing to bet that you have had your fair share in your lifetime.

If Mexicans here illegally can get an amnesty to stay in this country, can I as a US citizen get an amnesty later if I decide to stop paying my taxes? I mean, fair's fair; if Mexicans can pick and chose which of our laws they are going to obey, then so should I...
To: sarcasm
I suppose that you believe that we need 10 million illegals to pick apples and harvest vegetables. Uh the article you posted basically stated that "maybe" that 10% of the Apple crop could be totally automated. I guess it is alright with you if the whole crop rots on the trees.

I guess it is alright with you if the whole crop rots on the trees. Erm..no. But Americans would be harvesting these apples if they could only get hired...problem is, we are flooding this country with cheap labor and driving wages down. Companies won't pay Americans when they know they can entice cheaper labor to make that swim across the Rio Grande.
To: Dane
How many people are on welfare, Dane? Are you opposed to using them as farm labor? I'm still waiting for you to answer my question - what do Americans get out of the Bush amnesty?

Who picks the other 90% of the crop or would you let it rot on the tree?Yeah, that's right. Do these poor Mexican chaps a favor by letting pick your fruit for pennies on the dollar. After all, they're happy and we're happy, right? That is the condescending attitude which has, among a plethora of other problems, perpetuated the rift between Mexicans and Americans. Then they have children on our soil who grow up not understanding why their parents are treated like second class citizens when they work just as hard as any legal American. I can't blame some of them for despising us. It's not worth cheap apples.
