Man do I hope you're right. I just can't stand listening to Tom "By the Grace of Jihad Jim Jeffords KING" Dasschole anymore, and the prospect of a post-November duet with Pinhead Gephart is too horrible to contemplate.

The District that navyblue is talking about is a newly created Hispanic district. That is the one Loretta Sanchez's sister is trying to grab, over the opposion of other Hispanic office holders, but with the support of some Anglo liberals like Pelosi. It is quite nasty actually.

Come January, the Democrats will be a 100% minority, out-of-power party at the federal level for the first time since the Hoover Administration. That would be a very nice present to give to Jim Jeffords.

When did he make this prediction... 1988 or 1996?
To: MHT
If the Repubs go ahead with their plans to legalize 10 million illegal Mexicans, I predict a lot of conservative voters are going to stay home come November.

What is the third seat in Texas that you are putting into the GOP basket? I have only two in my basket. I think he's double-counting. The GOP will pick up both new seats gained from re-districting. One in Dallas, and one in Houston.
The only other seat that is possibly in play is Ralph Hall's.
I'm still trying to confirm a news report that Texas can redistrict for 2004. The current districts were set by court decision. If that report is true, it could easily shift 5 or 6 seats out of Democrat hands.

Your press reports: "WASHINGTON - The owner of one of the biggest banks in the Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda - known for years as a money-laundering haven - was the largest contributor to then-Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle's "soft money" fund-raising committee in the 12 months that ended June 30."

Don't be complacent. The RINOs in charge now are doing nothing to show the difference between the rats and the Republicans which motivates the Conservative base and those on the fence to vote right..

They have the most assholes. Does that count?

Gephardt is determinedly optimistic. "We're going to win the House back in '96 -- return it to the people," he declared at a boisterous Democratic rally in La Marque, Tex., near Galveston Bay. "Our time is coming."</Echo Echo

Democrats are hauling out the familiar spin: "There is absolutely no question that we will take back the House next year."
Rep. Nita Lowey, DCCC Chairwoman, DCCC release, 11-7-01She has a short memory.
- Before the 2000 elections: "In my humble opinion, we are now on an unalterable path to taking back the House in the year 2000." Rep. Dick Gephardt, CNN, 11-4-98
- After the 2000 elections: "Of course it's discouraging?" Rep. Nita Lowey, The Hill, 3-28-01
- Before the 1998 elections: "I think we have a great chance to get the House back?" Rep. David Bonior, Gannett, 3-15-98
- After the 1998 elections: "We are poised to take the House back in the next election?" Rep. Martin Frost, news conference, 11-4-98
- Before the 1996 elections: "I think we're going to win the House back." Dick Gephardt, San Antonio Express News, 4-4-96
- After the 1996 elections: "We came half the way?" Rep. Martin Frost, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 12-1-96

Good catch. Poco is simply parroting the same line he used last time. Virginia has a Republican legislature which presided over the most recent redistricting. I know a couple of Democratic congresscritters have been bunched into the same district, and I just heard on the news that a prominant Republican has moved into Rick Boucher's district (Boucher was one of the DemoRats who refused to even look at the House Managers' evidence against the 'Toon during Impeachment). Now, if the rest of the country can hold the line against Democrat election fraud, we can keep a Republican majority in Congress.

But, I guess Im trying to move to a dif- ferent position too and we are going to win the House back in the year 2000. I want to pay my respects to Bob GeorginePDF file echo, echo echo
