"It is pointless to speculate about when this will happen. It is not for us to know when He will come again, but only that we should continue to live according to His will."

I agree that speculation as to the day or hour would not be wise. However, that is not what my reply does nor was it intended to do. It does not suggest or speculate on a day or hour. It could be hundreds of years , decades or many years before the laser technology is developed to such an extent and could fall into the hands of the AntiChrist. I am merely raising the possiblity (by asking a question) that this type of technology could SOMEDAY become part of the fulfilment of prophecy.

I try to live by the 11 (the 11th is love your neighbor as yourself) commandments and the gospel of Jesus Christ and I believe that is living in accordance with God's will.

However, I believe we are told by the Bible and Jesus Christ to be alert to the signs of the times and the times as described by the Bible in prophecy. And in fact the Bible says that Jesus Christ is the spirit of prophecy. There are hundreds of prophecies in the Bible about Jesus Christ including many pertaining to His second coming.

Matthew 24: We are told to "watch therefore" See especially Matthew 24:42 and 24:43. The book of Revelation is the only Book of the Bible that has a blessing attached to reading, hearing and keeping the things therein. Paying attention to signs is not to know the day or hour but it is a witness to unbelievers and a comfort for believers.
