I may be way off base on this, but there's another reason why the Democrats want to 'move on' from Enron. In yesterday's Dallas Morning News, there was an article in the business section detailing Fastow's shenanigans with all those partnerships.

As it turns out, there was an officer from an Enron affiliate who was used as the 3% owner. This particular officer got a great deal of money for these partnerships by making deals with his domestic partner.

I tried to do a search, but was unable to locate the article on the DMN website. When I get home tonight, I'm going to find that article, and post it.

The irony is just too rich: I wonder how all the liberals are going to react when prominent homosexuals were the major culprits in the downfall of Enron? I suspect the silence will be deafening.

I think I mentioned and 'linked' some of the Verveer info. This was the first I was aware of his 12 years of government service and 4 with Justice re the 'Baby Bells' and the 'communications industry'.

I'm going to post that article tonight (from yesterday's DMN). I'll probably post just a few excerpts, because it was a pretty long article. I want to avoid gay-bashing, but there's a certain irony involved here.

All those Democrats bashing 'Big, Evil Business', when it appears that the fraud was committed by the CFO (Fastow) in cahoots with a gay couple. How WILL they react to that?

The 'sex' is always a cop-out sideshow anyway. The 'corruption' is the serious coverup. Any other 'focus' only detracts, IMHO.
