Thanks for your post #37 -- and, I agree. Students need to know what they are to do in school. One of the basic premises of successful schools is that in such schools, students KNOW the REASON they are IN school is to LEARN. This fact is NOT known to all students in all schools, and I can tell you that for a fact. Thanks again for your post. :)

Thanks for this article. I think one of the best things about Jeb is his way of getting people involved and their enthusiasm pumping. Its done in such a positive way you have to admire it.I give Jeb an A+

And, I agree: all the success and change that is STILL needed is not going to happen overnight. Also, I agree there are plenty of problems in education.

Most of all -- I agree that any student who has a parent willing to homeschool is a lucky child indeed. So, all in all, I think you and I agree more than disagree. :)!

Summer, I recommend that from time to time, if I tell you that there's serious stuff about Jeb in the St. Pete Times, unless you are already a subscriber, take today, Sunday for example. I think you should back order today 2-17-02's newspaper. Maybe they could just send you First Section with the HUGE Jeb article. The back order dept. for the St. Pete Times is: 727-895-1181.

If my scanner that I bought used had software, I'd just send it to you but no telling when I'll have that up and running. But, the St. Pete Times cleverly adjusted the money spent per child based upon the inflation rate & cola? and even though there is more per capita spending per child, the way the St Pete Times calculated it, they are accusing Jeb of sleight of hand saying that the kids are WORSE OFF. This paper was doing find by me until today. I guess they have their orders now to let the Jeb Bashing begin. I don't think their web site shows much from the paper but I could be wrong. This one today, you really need to get your hands on. Happy Sunday evening to you. Nancy

There are many people who are against testing, but so far, no one has discovered a better way to judge what our children are learning. Until they do, test on! We have to know how we are doing!
