If you expect anything brave out of the limp minority leaders,
then you are in for a major dissapointment.
THe tax rate did not change for 2001 (but it did change for 2002). In lieu of a lower tax rate you either get a refund check during the year or you get one when you file. Either way your taxes are lower by 300 - 600 this year.
Let me give you another example of a tax return I did this year of young man who had no taxes in 2000 but had taxes at regular rates of 900 in 2001. In 2001 his normal tax was calculated at 15%. Because he did not receive a refund the year during the 2001 year he was able to lower the tax due by 300.
Twist all you want, your taxes are lower this year due to the refund.

3 Democratic Senators are ready to support President Bush's bill which gives it enough votes to pass on regular rules.
But the HEAD RAT DASCHLE refuses to allow regular rules - saying there will be a filibuster - which will require 61 votes to overcome - which the Bush bill does not have.
The DASCHLE RAT BILL HAS LESS THAN 51 votes!!!! So it would not pass under any circumstances - so it is dead as doornail.
But what this means is that tax cuts will not be accelerated, the real estate (death tax) elimination WILL NOT BE MADE PERMANENT - SOMETHING THE SOCIALIST/MARXISTS WILL NEVER AGREE TO AS LONG AS THEY HOLD AMERICAN TAXPAYERS BY THE THROAT - and there will be no tax refund for lower wage earner as proposed in the Bush plan. Also, due to this tyranny, there will be NOTHING FOR BUSINESSES TO HELP THEM WITH THEIR TAX BURDEN!! Both plans would extend unemployment benefits for 13 weeks - but with the Dasshole action - that will not happen - not with this bill. The Rat plan, (the one without the votes to pass either way it goes) would NOT give businesses as big a tax break, would NOT repeal the death tax permanently, would NOT give a tax refund to lower income wage earners, and would add increased funding for medicaid to the states.
NOW YOU DECIDE WHAT IS RIGHT AND MAKE THE PHONE CALLS ABOUT WHAT YOU STAND FOR OR AGAINST!
I realize it is late - and the Congressional switch board may not be open - but people have posted the direct phone numbers above and maybe some good soul will do so here now. If you call direct office phone numbers, you can leave messages!
If they don't hear from us, I can guarantee they will think, ho hum, what does it matter. They DO need to know it matters!!!!

And, further, FOR THEM IT IS A WIN WIN WIN because they do not want you to be able to pass what you have worked a lifetime to earn on to your children without the STATE taking as much of it as possible - half or more. Maybe you don't care about that - cause once you're gone, you could care less.
But, unless you think all those years of your life's work were for the benefit of the poor in Bangladesh - you had better care - or were so you could pay for Bill Clinton's New York Estate for the rest of his life - with your hard earned life's savings - you should make those phone calls.
Bottom line: TAX CUTS ARE ALWAYS GOOD FOR THE ECONOMY AND FOR INDIVIDUAL AMERICANS! ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS!
Dashle and Hellary would rather Americans SUFFER than allow taxPAYERS to be able to keep one cent more than they already can keep!
This is basic communism, folks. It is what they live, breathe, and get their jollies doing - taking YOUR MONEY!
