Yeah, got to agreee with you there. She's here so if she wants to get a license she has to abide by the laws here, otherwise she should'nt get a license if she dosen't want to be photoed properly.

I think showing one's face is important in a free society and a requisite of honest and open human interaction. Curious what you guys, as libertarians, think about this.

Those veils can be a serious obstruction to vision.
Exactly!

It's the law of the land, were we in their country, we would have obey both laws of the land, and the laws of their religion.
No picture ID, no driving.

Oh boy, this really irks me. I am so sick of these people I can't see straight. A drivers license is a privilege, not a right. If she doesn't want to obey the laws, then she doesn't get to privilege of driving. End of story!

It is a major issue for muslim women, most of whom wear a head covering and prefer to do so.It is only an issue for the purpose of being one way to battle the west.

Last I heard, walking into a bank with a mask.. Might arouse some suspicion... Heard the NYPD plans on arresting folks with mask on if they have a demonstration... If you want to where your Muslim garb(crap) Go to a country that wears it... I spent 2 years in Jordan... Cool place... But all my ID's had my smiling face on it... So did all the the Iraqi, Egyptians, Jordanians, West Bank folks and Etc..

Do you need a full-face photo to get a driver's license in Saudi Arabia? How about Iran? How about Iraq?
Perhaps she would be much more comfortable in a country that would respect her multi-cultural diversity.
And does she wear that thing over her face while she is driving and talking on the cell phone and yelling at the kids in the back seat? I think I saw her in the next lane a few days ago ...

I really think this is a test... Really, we need to show our Passports prior to going overseas... With the proper Visa... I hope somebody is investigating this person.. That's just the way things are... And I have never seen a middleastern I.D. without a face on it..(modern)..

Yep, and I just feel it deep inside that they are going to cave into this issue. I'd be suprised if the state holds it's ground on this. I am sure the state will cave.

I don't think the state will cave on this one. I have been reading various net discussion sites, and so far, out of hundreds of replies I have read, NOT ONE is in favor of this woman -- and, these are liberal posters I am talking about.
