And why hasn't Ashcroft investigated the deaths of Ron Brown and Vince Foster. Something really SMELLS in both cases and if the GOP is not going to investigate THERE HAS TO BE A REASON. Occam's Razor suggests that if the GOP is not willing to even investigate crimes as serious as MURDER and MASS MURDER connected to treasonable activities, then the other side has something on them that is JUST AS SERIOUS!

Here's a message to the GOP. NO EXCUSES. Tell us the truth or you are part of the coverup.

Helen Thomas Syndrome: THE SYMPTOMS

Mia T, January 3, 2002

The complex of symptoms associated with Helen Thomas Syndrome, (also known as 'habituated doyenne-iosis'), includes the following:

  • delusions of importance
  • tunnel vision -field of vision is so severely constricted that evidence of Pulitzer-quality stories are invariably missed...evidence like:
    • an absurd reason ("to get a book of poetry") for a Thanksgiving trip from Camp David to DC and back by a corrupt president under subpoena
    • a dead body: a Ron-Brown-posthumous, Ron-Brown-related, Thanksgiving-Day corpse in the Commerce offices
    • the deposition of Sonya Stewart, which tells us that "the trade mission issues were "only the tip of the iceberg -- that the really big money went towards Presidential access." Mr. Grafeld indicated to me that he believes that Ms. Moss was asking for political contributions in exchange for seats on Commerce Department trade missions, likely at the direction of Hillary Rodham Clinton, but that documents showing this illegal activity had "left the building."
    • "a huge box" hauled back to Camp David by said corrupt president under subpoena.
    • the Gestalt--the synthesis of the evidence -- the absurd reason for the president's Thanksgiving-Day Camp David-DC-Camp David trip; the Ron-Brown-posthumous, Ron-Brown-related, Thanksgiving-Day corpse; the Sonya Stewart deposition informing us that evidence of illegal Commerce activity had "left the building;" and "a huge box" hauled back to Camp David by said corrupt president under subpoena.
  • left-lateral curvature of the spine -combines synergistically with tunnel vision and delusional tendencies to result in a grotesque, dysfunctional reverence for the cowardly, inept, narcissistic, seditious, corrupt rapist-pig proximate cause of 9/11.

But that does not excuse Bush's less-than-courageous decision not to expend political capital to go after clinton corruption. Not to do so threatens democracy--perhaps more slowly--but just as surely as terrorism does.

In fact, a good case can be made that foreign terrorists like Bin Laden can kill people but they do not represent a threat to our form of government or our liberties. What Clinton and democRATS did, and by extension what Bush is doing by ignoring what they did, DOES threaten the very foundations of our great country. And as we have seen, without judicial oversight, the detrimental changes can occur quite rapidly. As I posted to someone else,

Now the democRATS know that a President who controls the media (like they did AND DO) and the law enforcement arm of the Federal government (like Clinton did) can get away with ANYTHING. Now the democRATS know that the GOP is TOOTHLESS when it comes to keeping them from committing crimes. Afterwords, they can plead the 5th, lie or just pretend a memory lapse and the Republicans do NOTHING. Now the democRATS know that they can steal elections (they came within a hair of doing so in Florida and they succeeded in several other states) and Republicans will do NOTHING. Now the democRATS even know that after they commit the crimes, and Republicans are back in power, Republicans STILL won't do anything ... even if they have mountains of evidence proving the crimes. The democRATS know that they can ILLEGALLY examine the FBI files for damaging information on their opponents and publish the information in their controlled media ... and the Republicans will do NOTHING. Thanks to Emailgate, the democRATS know they can both destroy the evidence of their wrong doing or simply disconnect the systems that are supposed to preserve a "paper trail" of government activities ... and the GOP will do nothing. The democRATS know they can KILL high level members of the government who threaten to expose their activities and Republicans will do NOTHING. The democRATS know that they can abuse the IRS, FBI and MILITARY, turning them into instruments for distracting the public from reports that might damage them or even use them to harass their enemies ... and the Republicans will do NOTHING. The democRATS know that they can intimidate, smear and lie about anyone who threatens them and the Republicans will do NOTHING. The democRATS know that they can get campaign funds from illegal sources (even by selling US secrets to the enemy) and Republicans will do NOTHING.

Frankly, the incestuous, dynastic, professional nature of the current political structure, together with the clintons' limitless access to dark secrets via Filegate, etc., suggest an even less honorable reason than simple politics for the decision "to move on."

It certainly does and the ONLY way to clear the air is for the GOP to INVESTIGATE. Otherwise, the legacy of Clinton will taint Bush and the GOP.

I'm afraid the taint is already apparent...
Bush, Ashcroft and the GOP made their choice long ago...
Well, with the help of the 100 corrupt and cowardly cullions, clinton
walked. The senators' justification for their acquittal votes requires
the suspension of rational thought (and, in the curious case of Arlen
Specter, national jurisdiction).

--Mia T, Musings: Senatorial Courtesy Perverted

They will never prosecute the clintons.

Professional politics, like power, breeds corruption. The only way we can get rid of entrenched corruption is to purge the govt. of the pros and elect people from outside the system... people like us.

contingency principle

by Mia T

A trait or strategy that is successful at one time may be unsuccessful at another. Evolution is not progress. Populations are simply adapting to their current surroundings. Populations do not necessarily become better in any absolute sense over time.

Take RAPE. It may have been an evolutionary imperative for Homo erectus in the Pleistocene Epoch, but one can hardly argue that it is adaptive behavior for Homo sapiens in the year 2000, Boy Rapist-President and his co-rapist partner notwithstanding.

This contingency principle was demonstrated experimentally (Paquin and Adams) with a yeast culture that was maintained for many generations. Occasionally, a mutant strain would arise that increased reproductive success. These mutant strains would crowd out the formerly dominant strains. Samples of the most successful strains from the culture were taken across time. In later competition experiments, each strain would outcompete the immediately previously dominant type in a culture. However, some earlier isolates could outcompete strains that arose late in the experiment. Competitive ability of a strain was always better than its previous type, but competitiveness in a general sense was not increasing.

Any organism's success depends on the behavior of its contemporaries. (If you doubt this, just ask David Schippers.) For most traits or behaviors, there is likely no optimal design or strategy, only contingent ones.

And ping back to you, MiaT. I still don't believe this country could have elected Clinton . . . twice!!! I feel as though I have seen the future and it ain't pretty.
