You missed my point. He called me a heretic, thus I am in honorable company as a good number of the martyrs were called heretics. Especially during the Inquisition and during those nice lovely disputes between the Church of England and supposed 'heretics'. Read what I've said again, you're missing something vital. 39 posted on 1/28/02 4:51 PM Pacific by DarksheareExcept that you aren't in their company. Most of those martyrs were fighting and dying for Calvinist predestination. That was the doctrine which Rome was trying to kill.
You call them "supposed heretics", which begs the question: they were Calvinist predestinarians; was their doctrine of Calvinist Predestination "heretical", or is it Biblical?
If you believe that Calvinist predestination is false, you are not in the theological company of the Calvinist martyrs of the Reformation, but theologically in the company of their accusers.

...even among those sitting in a church on Sunday. Most in the world are unregenerate. Scripture told us that would be the case. Bump that one.

Seems to me that most of those killed by the Church of England died because they:
A)Stated that the bible was the word of God and that all men should read it rather than hear the priests tell them what it said.
B)Stated that it was by grace through faith that we are saved. Not through works.
C)Stated that it doesn't matter what men say, rather it is important what God says.
They also, and variously, wanted the Word of God in their own language so that all men may read it. Wanted to worship as their conscience dictated. I stated that I wanted to know what God said. I stated that I didn't care what man said, as man's word is inferior to God's. For that, I was called a heretic. Thus, by label, I am in honored company. Only difference is: I'm still around.
Once again. You didn't read what I said. You're missing something vital.
