REMEMBER, these people depend on us for their living. They have a lot of nerve to offend us. Me, I won't be going to see any of them. BTW has anyone seen Black Hawk Down? Great movie, this will be one of my last ones because it cost us nearly $40, tickets $17, popcorn etc. hubby won't disclose price, but says I am very close to $40. At these prices - I am not contributing to their lifestyle. DUMB ****

Well since he thinks Bush is so stupid I expected to see some impressive credentials in his bio at his web site bio here
Altman holds a B.A. degree in Psychology from the City University of New York (Hunter College). Bush has an B.A. from Yale and an MBA from Harvard and somehow managed to get elected President of the United States.

I think conservatives and Christians have been "not going" to movies so long that they have just dropped out of the loop, much like those who are unemployed for long periods of time drop out of the statistics. Hollywood seems totally unaware of the huge audience they have alienated. They (along with several other industries, such as music producers, TV etc.) don't even realize, or probably even care about you if you don't fit into their 18-35 young urban bracket. I never buy CDs, go to movies about once or twice a year, and the major TV stations have not one TV show on that I would consider seeing - and I don't know anyone else who does either. I am always hearing about "Friends" or "Sex and the City" - well, I don't watch those, and I don't know anyone else who does. The only people I ever hear talking about those shows are the brain dead kids in the workout room down at the chiropractor's office.

Lately the expression "ivory tower liberal" has assumed new meaning for me. These types are SO out of touch it just makes me shake my head in wonder. They don't even know you exist. During the debate over Napster I remember someone quoting that lately the CD industry's sales figures have gone down, and someone replying, "Of course they have gone down. The music is unlistenable for anyone who isn't a teenager." By the way, Peggy Lee died today. Where are the Peggy Lees in the music industry? They are out there, but no one from the major labels wants to find them. They just want to shove more Brittany Spears down our throats.

I guess what I am saying here is that I not only boycott out of conviction, I boycott out of the feeling that the entertainment industries simply don't care about me or serve my needs. They turn out their tripe for their kind of consumer. The clue is the mentality of a Robert Altman or an Alec Baldwin - what would make anyone think that they would produce a product the "red zone" would like? And nobody in the industry seems to even have a clue how unpopular their stuff is - people only buy it because of the lack of an alternative.

I guess he won't like my latest project then...

It's going to be 78 feet wide and 53 feet tall.

Ouch! Yes, I agree. All in all, the wife abusers, dog kickers and directors who think their country isn't good enough for them require us to sneer at them. Can't be helped. LOL.

He is the quintessential "Californy" mogul who used to direct his masterpieces by getting himself and participants drunk or stoned each morning and then shooting whatever comes to mind. No wonder so many actors loved working with him.

It sounds to me like his problem with America is Hollywood, not Washington.

"You don't get that in America and I think the real problem is the agent thing. Agents are always out there chasing everything from the biggest salary to the biggest trailer," says Altman.

Hmmm. Seems somebody doesn't want to pay his actors fair wages. Sounds like a capitalist pig trying to dress it all up as a kiss-up to Brit actors.

When did Britany take a stand against Bush? What did she say? I think I may be heart-broken.

"This present government in America I just find disgusting, the idea that George Bush could run a baseball team successfully - he can't even speak! I just find him an embarrassment."

Sounds to me like that statement just ensured he'll win the Oscar for Best Director. Ron Howard, et al. may as well not even show up.

Altman -- here's a guy so brainy, his whole directorial shtick is to let actors -- actors! -- ad-lib.

Re your #85...I pretty much agree with you except I believe the bean counters in Hollywood DO understand that educated, moral, and self confident people who do not need their insidious crutches will avoid their products.

As it is, they have a large captive audience of drones. Yes...they would like it to grow but it isn't going to happen unless the Alec Baldwins and Barbara Steisands of the world can impact the political system and shut down those parts of America normal people cherish.....which, by the way, they are trying to do.

That Hairless/Brainless Wonder should stay in London...or anywhere else but American !! !! !!

If he has the nerve to show up he just might find out if any Americans DO MISS him.....He should hope they do, especially if the ammo used is larger that a .25 calibre......
