LOL, that was great.

I knew it all the time. It was the three Firefighters from Miami-Dade in Opa Loca who refused to ride on a fire truck with the American flag. They simply found a way to get rid of it.

Aside from the petition, I just thought of a chance that may be farfetched, but may work. Does anyone have a print of that original photo? If so, find out who owns the copyright on it, probably AP.
You see, it could possibly be interpreted that the sculpture is a derivative work of the flag-raising photo. If this is so, then the owner of the work could sue this man commissioning the sculpture for copyright violation. Anyone here a copyright lawyer? I've studied copyright quite a bit, but I'm not a lawyer.

I just signed. This petition is moving very quickly. By the time I got back to post here - matter of seconds - 7 more people had signed. Thanks for putting the petition online. I'd do it myself, but I don't know how, perhaps we could also put it on the NewsMax forum.

Once the email chains kick-in, it'll take off even more.

We already have too much of it infesting our nation and its time to stand up and put it down once and for all. The statue is privately funded and the person who is paying the bills for the statue will specify what he wants the statue to look like. This does not sound like fascism to me.

And who is paying that bill...?
To: maxwellp
Send it to them! Newsmax would be a great place for it.
I also asked JJ Johnson to put it up on SierraTimes.
To: phasma proeliator
Bruce Ratner is paying for the statue he is a NYC developer who has decided to have the statue depict three different ethnicitys . No tax payer money is going to this project and I see no reason why we should be concerned with what private people do with their money.

Fascism is when something is owned, but is controlled by others, inparticular those in rule.
This can be applied to the truth as it is attempting to be distorted and "controlled" here. As I understand it, the NY City Council is also involved.
Sure, an individual can build a statue to represent anything he wants ... but when the government buys into it and proposes to establish a lie as a memorial to an historical event ... well, the path leads right to where that origial poster mentioned.
It is up to us to also exercise our rights to correct this gross miscarriage ... and we will.
