"That's small-minded thinking, on a collosal scale. The US Dollars that *they* have, must find their way back here into US hands. Like it not, neighbor that *is* the ebb & flow of global commerce; in this the year of our Lord, 2002 United Staes of America."

Commerce between American corporations and foreign markets is accomplished every day without the help of a Federal Department of Commerce, my FRiend, and yer over-the-top reaction to the contrary makes me wonder why in the heck you'd be brainwashed into believing otherwise.

"Here's an example & a RARE one at that, of a LAZY & corrupt US Gov actually trying to HELP us, for a change. It's called, Capitalism, FYI. The business of America, IS business, dammit. Whether you like or not, someone's going to make that money for their corporations & ultimately, for themselves; even if you don't & won't."

LOL...so American entreprenuers cannot succeed without Big Brother pickin' and choosin' who's gonna get the monopoly contracts overseas?! SHEEESH, who got to ya, dude?! With that sorta thinkin', you'd have to believe no American got ed-yoo-kated afore Jimmy Carter created the Federal Department of Education in the late-70's...the Dept. of Commerce doesn't accomplish SQUAT exceptin' fer giving the Executive Branch another source to dole out Corporate Welfare in exchange for campaign donations. After Ron Brown's Corruption Extravaganza, it's amazing to me that someone as worldly as you would think otherwise.

"Keep this kinda Socialist baloney up..."

No, I'm promoting free markets while you seem to be defending Fascism...MUD

"NewsMax Links to HotTopic Clinton Scandals!!"

It's sooo hard to keep up with all the stories relating to Clinton Corruption...but here's a few good links:

Wes Vernon's "Congress Poised to Probe Dems' Global Crossing Scandal" (2/9/02)

Wes Vernon's "More Trouble for Dems and Global Crossing" (2/5/02)

It's interesting that NewsMax's Wes Vernon has broken two very interesting stories on Global Crossing this week as I had the distinct pleasure of meeting him last Saturday afternoon at CPAC as we both hung out in front of the FreeRepublic.com/FreeRepublic.net Booth. He had asked a very good question of one of the speakers (it might have been Sam Donaldson) earlier in the morning regarding the apparent Media Blackout of Global Crossing stories and I complimented him on his interest. He seemed somewhat surprised that I'd even heard of Global Crossing and T-Mac's miraculous investment and I told him about some of the ongoing threads on FR.com regarding this issue and invited him to check us out. I don't think it's that much of a leap to assume that maybe he did.

In any event, if you're lurkin' out there, Mr. Vernon, congratulations on two very good stories and I'll be lurkin' over there to see if your investigative journalism efforts result in yet more Breaking News on this RipeFerThePickin' Issue!!

"He Was From Kansas..."
(To be sung to Jimmy Buffet's "He Went to Paris")

He was from Kansas...in FlyOver Country...
Where Dorothy chased her rainbow.
He was impressive...the Senior Class President...
In Dover town he did grow.
Slopped hogs, fed chickens...just full of the dickens...
"What a fine boy," folks would say.
'Cuz he was a winner, his life just beginnin'...
And eighteen blessed years slipped away.

He went to college, then joined the Navy...
And married a teacher named Sue.
They had a fine life...she was a good wife...
And bore him four sons...what a crew!!
That man coached some football...and he camped with Weeb'los...
While defending his Country each day!
'Cuz he was a patriot...promoted to Captain...
An aircraft carrier he did sail!!

Went to war with the Navy...while Sue loved his babies...
Traded audiotapes ev'ry week.
'Cuz he knew what mattered, the Old World was shatterin'...
And Socialists SLAUGHTER the meek!!
While the bombs were a'fallin', he was recallin'...
His kin and his li'l town.
And he fought fer his Nation, secured the oceans...
Returned to Norfolk and cheerin' crowds.

(Mudboy on harp...)

Now he lives near the beach, man...golfs on the weekends...
And starts cheerin' his Redskins each May.
Tracin' his kin's roots, buyin' up Richmond,
With his many grandkids he'd play.
Through sixty-odd years of perpetual motion...
Ask this sailor and he'll smile and he'll say,
"Son, my life's been magic...not much has been tragic...
And I look forward to every day!!"

He is from Kansas...where Honor still matters...
And Dorothy found her rainbow!!

I didn't see any net media at CPAC. I was looking for someone from World Net Daily, Newsmax, CNS News, Capitol Hill Blue, or any of the other reputable conservative web sources. I must have missed them.

"I didn't see any net media at CPAC."

Mr. Vernon was a white-haired, 60-ish gentleman with a tan plaid sportscoat and I know you were in the vicinity as we spoke, but you were busy as heck every time I saw you, so I'm not surprised y'all didn't hook up. Based on his obvious interest in this story, I wouldn't be shocked to see him breaking some major ground on Global Crossing. He gave me his card with his phone and fax number, email address, and he works outta Silver Spring, MD. FReepMail me if you want the contact info...methinks he'd make an excellent interview for FreeRepublicRadio.

"I was looking for someone from World Net Daily, Newsmax, CNS News, Capitol Hill Blue, or any of the other reputable conservative web sources."

With all the Conservative notables I did recognize, I'd bet there were a few there that we just didn't recognize. I was only at CPAC for Friday afternoon and all day Saturday, but next year I think I'll plan on being there for the entire event...met a lotta good folks in a short period of time.

As FreeRepublic.net and FreeRepublicRadio pick up steam over the next twelve months, it'd probably be a good idea to hook up with some of these folks prior to the event--based on the excellent interviews y'all were doing while I was there, it's obvious you're well aware of that--and future CPACs can be even more of a bonanza fer hobnobbin' amongst the VRWC.

Sorry I didn't have more of a chance to chat with you, my FRiend...MUD

"Commerce between American corporations and foreign markets is accomplished every day without the help of a Federal Department of Commerce, my FRiend, and yer over-the-top reaction to the contrary makes me wonder why in the heck you'd be brainwashed into believing otherwise."

Brainwashed?
Why you imprudent; if not all together impudent rascal!
Where in the hell do you get off thinking foreign nations are going to LET our corp's enter their countries in order for us to trade?
Or when the US MAKES 'em let us in??
The foreign buggers permit us "play the game" on a level field & fairly?
There're other reasons US business sets-up operations in forgeign nations besides trying to skunk-out US Labor, for crying out loud.
US Labor is an ENORMOUS, SPOILED PACK OF PITA'S, true!!
But, they're good at what they do (as a rule) & they are here; where you may lay here equal to the market.
Hmmmmm?
Most of the developing nations are breaking their balls to develope themselves & their own economy. MOST will & are buying our 'product' (singular), reverse engineering it, & then proceed to go after OUR clientele (markets) to sell at half the price.
That's only one example of the crap that's going down outside the borders of the USA business-wise, bucko.
We don't stand a chance; without some clout & you really have no clue whatsoever
Do you?

"...so American entreprenuers cannot succeed without Big Brother pickin' and choosin' who's gonna get the monopoly contracts overseas?!"

Oh gezzz.
Give it a rest, dude.

"SHEEESH, who got to ya, dude?! With that sorta thinkin', you'd have to believe no American got ed-yoo-kated afore Jimmy Carter created the Federal Department of Education in the late-70's."

The pre-Jimmy Carter education system *got* to me; ya just said so yourself, genius.

"...the Dept. of Commerce doesn't accomplish SQUAT exceptin' fer giving the Executive Branch another source to dole out Corporate Welfare in exchange for campaign donations."

Yea, maybe now that's what *they're* doing; & CERTAINLY there looks to be ample evidence to suggest that's precisely what happened under our last Socialist POTUS.
I can't & won't argue that.
However, that was NOT the reason Commerse was created; & don't you forget it.
Of course, you were but a young welp in knickers when the NEED arose necessitating our government to intervene against the asshole nation's concerted effort(s) to shut us out of ALL markets, except our own?
~eh?

"After Ron Brown's Corruption Extravaganza, it's amazing to me that someone as worldly as you would think otherwise."

My dear friend; you've just GOT to get that filthy, cork-screwy Sink Emporer & his legion of extortionists off the brain.
The memory of the bastard & his shake-down flunkies is rotting you from the inside out.
Made ya think at heart, we're all killers.
Worse yet, that only you can see the light on this?
Maybe?

"No, I'm promoting free markets while you seem to be defending Fascism..."

The only thing you're defending is the only thing you have.
Some incredible ignorance based on nievete' & blurred by the memory of the greatest criminal enterprise the Republic's ever known.
And you're old enough to know better, too.
Stick to your forte'; archetecture.

...that does it, I'm telling; Ruusssshhhhh...

Was that something to see, or what?
Than, JJohnons's boss pulling that boner on the white flag lap to put the hardware geek into winner's circle?
Geshhh; what a moron.

Did ya notice how dumbed-down those cars are, now?
For us, it's almost not worth watching.
And the Fords are really screwed this year; whining maximus is imminent!! :o)
I'm thinking super speedways won't be nearly as exciting as the intermidiate & short tracks, this year; if the Shoot Out was any indicator?

During qualifying I couldn't believe what I was seeing; closest Ford 6th & it got much worse from there-on.
I yelled out in glee, "Why I'll be a SOB if those guys (Ford) didn't forget to show up!!"
My bride says, "You are a SOB, now light the grill!"
We laughed pretty hard at that one, alright.

...the little shit. :^)

America will not regain its swagger until Americans hold Clinton accountable for his crimes...Felons do not walk free in a Justice System of Laws Not Men!! How can we make Clinton/DemonRAT criminality and Treason an issue in the upcoming campaigns?! How can we shame Ashcroft and the Justice Department into doing what it ought to be doing vis a vis the Corruption of the previous Administration?! How can we ignite the grass roots? I'm sick of always being on the defensive...how can we get the good guys to fight the good fight, instead of compromising away the Principles that made this Country the greatest ever to grace this Earth?! What's it gonna take to make Dubyuh mad enough at the low-life Rats to take off the kid gloves and come out swingin'?! If he would, the good folks in this Country would rally to his Cause...we can't help but look like hypocrits when we castigate other Countries for their Corrupt Elitist Governments whilst the Justice Departments of both DemonRAT and now Republican Administrations appear willing to allow the Clinton Administration--including the EX-Rapist-in-Chief and the Junior Senator from New York--to get off scot-free when there is ample evidence of multiple felonies, including Perjury, Obstruction of Justice, Massive Campaign Finance Abuse, Rape, Bribery, Dereliction of Duty, and yes, TREASON?!!

Clinton Corruption must be made an issue in the upcoming campaigns cause he ain't going away until we put him away!!

If they don't do something soon, the statute of limitations will protect them forever.

Nobody wants to go after a former Prez. That's why Nixon was allowed to resign. They have this misconception that it would sully the office.

Our best chance for justice for the scums of the last administration was the impeachment in the republican controlled senate and they didn't have the cajones to pursue the charges.

My FRiend, until the American people indicate they want justice, nothing will be done. 37% of a poll said they would listen to his talk show which would make it successful!!

In any event, I continue to hope that justice prevails. Here's something I wrote recently, Mud

I Am The Eagle

I am the Eagle
striking with fury,
I am the judge,
I am the jury

You made a bad guess,
you attacked my nest,
you thought I was weak,
that you could wreak,
fear into my people,
thinking them feeble

You destroyed my towers,
now littered with flowers,
strewn with bent girders,
a reminder of your murders

What a mistake you made,
set yourself up for air raids,
thought to hide in your caves,
sent to your graves

You claim to be for peace
yet, you refuse to cease
attacks upon the innocent,
you are Hell bent

You’re not about peace
You’re about submission
You are a beast,
A snake, hissing

I am the Eagle
you’ve ignited my fury,
I am now your judge,
I am now your jury

I am the Eagle,
you are the prey,
soon will come,
your judgement day
