Will the media please explain what is wrong with accepting finacial contributions from a company that is solvent and in good standing( as far as anyone knew)???If Bush had accepted campaign money-After the company had publicly announced it was filing for bankruptcy-that would be a story.

Great post and counter-post! The real story here is the disgusting partisanship of the so-called Associated Press (and other media whores). They have absolutely no business calling themselves press, or expecting any trust or respect from the public.

Geez, talk about selective indignation! With all the millions Bush received during his presidential campaign the Enron money wouldn't even be noticed.

I'm positive AP is busy working on the Clinton/Gore connections to Enron, like Kenneth Lay's over-nights in the Lincoln bedroom and golf dates with Tubby.

It's almost comforting to see the press in their old "Hang All Republicans!!" mode. I was beginning to think the Reagan and GHW Bush years were a dream.

And see all the influence $114,000 gets you? Bankruptcy! That's quite a quid pro quo; wonder what bigger donors got? :-)

One of the last checks Enron as a company wrote, for $100,000, was to the DNC.

Bigger donors probably lost family members. I'm sure their pets died.

I opened up the Enron contribution link with visons of Sheila Jackson Lee $$$ sugarplums (don't picture that on a full stomach) dancing in my head. Was I disappointed?

Perish the thought!

She's fat, she's stupid ... and I'll make a daring prediction that she'll be keeping her loud mouth closed for bidness regarding this outrageous "scandal".

And ... since Heidi Fleiss' "retirement" - is there a more ubiquitous "ho" than Chuck Schumer? This guy is financed by everyone on Earth. Willingly or not. I'm putting my wallet in my side pocket just for safety, that little putz will be sniffing around eventually.

Great post!

Yes, nothng today was sweeter than the Sheila Jackson Lee connection. The Enron guys did that one exactly right.

I wish they had given Chuck "The Schmuck" more moola, but this little revelation still might protect us from hearing his voice or seeing his ugly mug till, at least, Monday or Tuesday.

I'm surprised too, he seems to be the type of guy who'd bond immediately with 50-something Texan alpha males.

Deb, I have a question for you, and it's related to "Mr. Sincere", Chuck Schumer. My first thought was "I wonder how long it's been since Chuck Schumer drove a car."

That led to a bad memory of Bob Dole's 1996 campaign ... I talked to his Minnesota campaign manager one time and I said "look, it's pretty simple. In the debate, ask Bill Clinton if he, as 52 year old man, has EVER owned a house. Then, ask him the last time he has personally owned an automobile. Or driven one." They laughed it off, but NOBODY can trust the most powerful office on Earth to a 50 year old man who has never owned a mortgage, or owned or driven a CAR in 30 years!!! Do you think Hillary Clinton has a driver's lcense? Has she held a driver's license since, oh ... Chastity Bono last thought a boy was "cute"?

Sorry, it's a bias of mine ... if you're 52 and you've never owned an automobile ... much less a house ... I just don't want you micro-managing $2 billion of taxpayer money.

I'm sure you're right that none of those people have owned or driven a car...wait, didn't Clinton admit he once owned a Ranchero with astro-turf in the back? Of course that doesn't mean he drove it, just parked it. And I'm sure that if Terry McCauliff hadn't provided the money and done the paper work, the Clintons would never have obtained a residential platform from which to launch Buddy back to Jesus.

It might have been an El Camino. Trailer Trash is your answer? Survey says ...! It's probably on display in the lobby at Larry Flynt's nightclub. I saw Clinton tonight on Fox and he looks extremely gaunt. I knew when he ditched the Secret Service in Africa it would lead to trouble ...

Cisco has lost $400 billion in market value since March of 1999. Ouch, what about the retirees? Too bad for Henry Nostrillius Waxman that Cisco is not a Texas oil or gas concern. That would get his porcine nasal fixture flaring spectacularly.

launch Buddy back to Jesus.

Yeah, that was tragic. I guess it's all up to Bruce Lindsey again to hump Clinton's leg on demand.
