Nice. I'll be interested to see how this affects the current bills being introduced for permits to carry.

Writing that people - not guns - kill, Ruehlman threw out that suit. This line says it all.
To: Corporate Law
''We anticipated it,'' Allen said, noting he already has his written appeal ready to file. ''We're going to appeal and ask for a stay. Any change in this law should come from the Legislature.'' IOW, "We knew we would lose because any truthful person can see the law is unconstitutional. Although we realize that it is the courts place to rule laws unconstitutional, we don't think they should do it in this case because history shows that the bought and paid for legislature will not change the law".

I hope there are some Freepers who are carrying today, at least until the injunction goes through.

Robert Ruehlman --- bump! The guy deserves to be nominated to the U.S Supreme Court when there's a vacancy. What a great day for the 2nd Amendment in Ohio!!!
To: Corporate Law
''I wouldn't object to a permitting system,'' If you have to get permission or a license for that matter from the government, then obviously it is STILL unconstitutional.
The 2nd Amendment mentions NOTHING about getting permission.

Let's see if that spineless Governor will do what he promised while a candidate and sign a bill. I am certainly not going to hold my breath.

Bang! Oops, I meant bump!

Heck, I would like to see him on the Ohio Supreme Court. God knows we need justices like him in Columbus.

Hopefully one more state down, nine to go.Now we just need one license for all 50 states!!!

Yep. He's a county common pleas court judge, making a ruling on the Ohio Constitution. That will be hard to reverse by a federal or even a state court. Too bad that so few federal judges have read the US Constitution, and most of those who have disagree with it.

Congrats, Ohioans! And I am, though I'm not in Ohio.

I don't think they're needed. What Judge Ruehlman's decision basically said is that ANY attempt to prevent people from exercising their right of self-defense is unconstitutional. Its going to be interesting what the Ohio Supreme Court says and there's a good chance this could turn into a test case for the U.S Supreme Court to decide how banning concealed carry weapons relates to the 2nd Amendment. For the moment let's just savor this victory.

Wasn't this judge's wife robbed or raped at gunpoint several years ago?? Seems i remember that the defendents (the State?) was asking him to recuse himself because of his bias.....If i'm right he told them to shove it....We need more JUST like him....

A
JUDGE that upholds the
LAW!
Sorry, I think I fainted!

Now we just need one license for all 50 states!!!I'd rather any one state's license being valid for any other state. But you're right, this is a great victory for us pro-self-defense people. I congratulate my neighbors to the south (even if they did win the Toledo War) on regaining the right to be responsible for themselves.
