Exactly. Most of the vacuous "critiques" of her book were one-note jobs devoid of any detail, the kind of detail which spans over 560 pages including extensive endnotes and a robust bibliography. Finklestein took a pathetic stab at it which amounted to all of one chapter in a pathetic anti-zionist book he wrote which chapter had been discredited in a Commentary periodical. When he published his criticism which made up a chapter in his subsequent anti-zionist book none of the trenchant criticism of his take on Peters was answered by him. When you ask the imbeciles on this board who repeat this nonsense to come up with the goods they can't. There may be disagreements over some numbers and population distribution but in the final analysis her work stands as a testament against the Pan Arab Islamic propaganda.
Yes the Jews were to get WEST Palestine where they had settled the most and the Arabs EAST Palestine. I believe that EAST Palestine would comprise today's West Bank and Jordan. Arabs went to war because the idea of Jews controlling any of Palestine, making a Jewish nation, made them go nuts.
Is there any doubt that Israel would revert to this same condition if the Jews were driven out? Tell me one country in the Islam world which is ruled successfully without massive oil wealth? Sorry, Turkey and Malaysia don't count because they're secular Muslim countries aligned with the west which practice a moderate and rational brand of Islam.
I have no problem with this either. Populations tend to mingle peacefully or via war meaning rape. Maybe this is subliminal human intelligence knowing that it's best not to inbreed! This paper got pulled due to politicized anti Israel language. But wooly_bully and others think it's due to conspiracy by Jews. After all, the clever Jews control the sciences. Just look at all the Jewish Noble Prize winners.
Go figure!
That, in effect, was the end result of the endless Jihads against the fixed Christian (non-Arab) and Jewish population in Palestine. Colonization by nomadic Arab tribes and the stripping of the land. By the 17th century under the Ottomans it had turned into a waisteland - a forgotten and neglected province of the Turks.
The Jews were the majority before they were colonized out during the Jihads initiated post-Mohammed. Since then, Arabs, Syrians, Egyptians, Moroccans, Bosnians, and a whole host of peoples went in and out of that land. The Arabs got a slice of what was to be the National Home of the Jews encompassing Western Palestine and present day Jordan. This 2/3 was sliced up by the British and given to the Arabs in 1922. The Jews were not allowed to live in what was then called the Transjordan while Arabs were allowed to settle in both Transjordan and Western Palestine. Just as the Ottomans used colonization to Palestine, i.e., the Muslims from the breakup of their empire (Bosnia, Kosovo, etc.), so did European Jews take advantage of the National Home initiated by the British and their victory over the Ottomans to reenter the land of their forefathers, the same land their forebearers had been cleansed out of by the last great diaspora of Jews initiated under the Islamic caliphs.
The Arab Islamics have nothing to complain about. Resolution 181 was initiated and passed based on population distribution and the Arabs rejected it. They've been whining phony crocodile tears ever since. And there are plenty of suckers to buy their fraudulent bill of goods.
Check my profile links regarding the Serbs and by inference you'll know what I think of South Africa.
Mad Mo had to create a new religion. The olds ones told him being sloth was a deadly sin, that and raping little boys.
The Wailing Wall which is where Muslims now claim Mohamed tied is flying horse to is where they had rows of out houses backed up to so they could hsit on it. Even today they have a bus station and a parking lot next to the the garden tomb and what is possibly Golgotha with a Muslim burial ground above to keep people away. They definitely laugh and think how foolish are the Christians for allowing a place that should be honored to be treated the way it is.
