That would just about empty the halls of congress, clean out the courts and shut down the White House! We have to start somewhere and that sounds like as good a place as any. BTW, I am not opposed to tar and feathering and running them right out of town. 8-)

Is there a provision in the constitution that says that congress shall provide arms to the militia?
Hint: Article 1, Section 8, paragraph 16

Good question. These are the types of questions that I was hoping to get from this endevour. We need to prove to them that we are not as dumb sheep to be fleeced at their will. One way to start is to let them know we have an understanding of the founding documents and they had better too.

Yesterday I couldn't spell Restorationist and now I am one. 8-)
I just picked up an audio presenation entitled 'Our Sacred Honor' edited by William Bennett. It is a four hour compulation of stories, letters and speeches of the Founding Fathers. It gave me some sorely needed inspiration.

Yes, you are correct and I think fivetoes has a good idea here. Sierra Wasp earlier was tipping us off to the fact that no public official has any motivation to know, protect, or abide by Constitutional mandates because there are no penalties for not doing so, and no rewards for doing so except personal pride, ethics, and accomplishments (no fame or money). If fivetoes can change that our Constitition may get protected instead of shredded.

You do have a valid point. We need to stop splitting hairs on the definition of words and return to the spirit of the Revolution and take our country back from these folks who try to outmaneuver the masses with gobbely gook. The constitution is written in plain simple language and should be brought back to its simplicity.

Re:#54. This is proof that you ARE a Restorationist. You are really getting a grip on this. Good strategy.

The point is to gather questions to ask potential candidates before the election. If they have any personal pride and do not understand the constitution then we should publically ridicule them on this fact. What we need is a set of questions that will expose them. We will then need active participation by patriots to stand up and ask the questions. This could be a real fun time. Bring your family and friends to any local political rally and take turn asking questions.
We must demand that only qualified individuals be allowed to represent us. If we do not demand this then we must accept what we get. It is after all our government. We are responsible for it.

NP,
I am rather new at this. I learn something everyday on ways to restore our God given rights. I came to grips with my own lack of participation in my article 'It's All My Fault'. I can no longer sit by and watch the great experiment go down the tubes. We must fight! We must raise the bar on what we require from our elected officials.
I am not a rich man, but when I have to face my ten children in later years I want to be able to say that I did whatever I thought was right and just to pass on to them the principles of LIBERTY.

Good post!
I have been on a comittee that interviews candidates for 4 years. The first question I ask is: In 5 words or less what is the purpose of the "Bill of Rights?" Not one has been able to answer in 5 words or less.
Answer: To restrict the Government.
The second question is: Would you vote for any form of gun control? They all get the right answer eventually, some stutter and stammer getting there. If they hesitate, blink, or stutter, they didn't get it right in my mind.
Anyone who can't trust me with a gun, can't be trusted with my grandkid's freedom!
