Well..........the platform looks like an "unappeasable's" dream but you left out a couple of things that could cost you the hard core Keyester base. You better banish leash laws in public parks and speed limits.
I'm sure you can get a majority of the voters to deliver a landslide victory. But I don't know about getting the vote of Alan Keyes, himself. I heard he believes that only he could run this country the right way and has convinced himself he's electable. Go figure !!!!!!

Let's consider the message rather than killing the messenger, Keyes.
Sticking to the U.S. Constitution, education was supposed to be under "local control" and surely that cannot happen when Federal funds flow to local school districts. He who controls the funds, controls the process of education. Also, it is unconstitutional to have the U.S. Dept. of Education.
As a former teacher and-or instructor at the elementary, secondary and university levels, it is utterly preposterous for President Bush to call for such Federal funds to be spent on education.
Maybe it's about time, too, to have education center on "meat and potatoes" subjects like English, the liberal arts, science and mathematics. Today, extra-curricular activities, mainly sports, take up needless time and money from that "education dollar" that should be used to ground our youth in HOW to act and participate in government through their knowledge and application of the U.S. Constitution. Our kids, frankly, are dumbed down; soon we will lack future citizens who have the ability and know-how to preserve our freedoms.

Do you prove your "grounding in Jesus Christ" by calling people idiots? IF YOU HAD PAID ATTENTION, you would have found in post #665 that I had mistakenly read the POSTERS review rather than the entire article, and I apologized for getting it wrong. However, I stand by my premise, that the over the top scare mongering by the libertarians, and other third party folk, hurt their, and our cause. If Keyes HAD used such terms (and he did not), then he would become known for his over the top mentality, and additionally, those who speak against the education monster would be thrown into the same "over the top" category. The libertarians tendency to call people (like Ashcroft) fascist, to call republicans statist and socialist, etc. causes people to see them as extreme and dismiss them, and unfortunately, when conservatives voice concern about some of the same issues, they are getting thrown into the same soup with the broad brushers, the name callers, and the conspiracy kooks....yes, they do hurt the cause.

Bush, break promises? No, not Bush, I don't believe it, can't be... Please no don't make me look at reality, Bush is Good, Bush is our leader Bush will destroy the evil ones we must not second guess him. No, Someone misqouted him because he always tells the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

"It's amusing to watch the Conservatives turn on Keys, Barr, and Paul."This kind of behavior is what has me convinced that there is no turning back from the path to revolution. When so-called conservatives abandon their principles in blind faith to their candidate (Bush) and his broken promises and un-constitutional actions, then we are lost. The Republican party is jumping up and down with their hands in the air, while the herd continues moving steadily towards the edge of the cliff.
Like the first revolution, only a small percentage will actually stand their ground on princple, while the rest stand aside and wait to see whose side they are on.
I pray for our nation.

"You can't judge a presiency by it's first year."Yes, you can. There are going to be a lot of 'I told you so's' in the next couple of years.

I've not even read further down the thread to enjoy the blasting you got from this comment.
Keys is an American, and America is his homeland. Maybe you should stick you head in the oven and take a little gas.

Remember back when we used to be able to have intelligent discussions on FR? Those were the days. ;)

..."And yes, continual and extreme personal harm to one's body should be illegal, IMO"....
Uh, er....do you also advocate for government making stupidity or ignorance illegal? Well, then, perhaps fedgov should make Democrats illegal, as well as Baptists or Catholics, as well as Cadillacs, Peterbilts, donuts, cake, candies, pies, butter, milk, beer, hard booze, meat, potatoes, bread, television, computers, coffee, tea, coke, bacon, sex, and on and on and on......well, now, come to think of it, with all of these being on the 'banned' list, is it no wonder people would want to commit suicide? :)
