They will go the way of the Taliban. Real Americans, real conservatives don't have this obsessed, maniacal obsessions about other people's love lives.

Real Americans, real conservatives are not so obsessed with people they disagree with that they call them the Taliban (which seems to have replaced Nazis for the time being).

You're being as ignorant as Julian Bond.

Gay behavior is often characterized by extreme promiscuity (100's of partners); anonymous sex (typified by the "glory hole"); wallowing in feces and urine; and sadomasochism. This behavior is the cause of AIDS. The powerful gay lobby's refusal to allow preventive measures has resulted in a deadly epidemic. And because some gays insisted on donating blood, many hemophiliacs and others became infected.

Doesn't mince words.

Saw a show on HIST or TLC or something a few nights ago called "Sex in our Century" talking about the AIDS epidemic. Apparently the CDC has reasoned that people are going to have sex, no matter how dangerous, no matter how forbidden, etc... then there was a comment "because you have to get your genes into the next generation."

They had just come from talking about homsexual behavior and AIDS, for pete's sake? How's that for logic?

The "science" of the Bible was that of ignorant goatherders

LOL. Like the Bible was a Science book. It was a History book. Science *does* back it up, BTW. The "facts" in school textbooks which support evolution have been disproven for sometimes a hundred years. Even Evolutionists are at a loss as to what to replace them with. So they don't. They can't take them out, because then you're left with... (gasp) creation ex nihilo. Can't have that.

It is a History book.

It's a book of myths, yes. Like Aesop's Fables. Tries to teach some cultural lessons. People read it into some sort of religion -- call everything in it the absolute truth, etc. But most of it is bunk.

Not so much "us" as our children. And there in lies the problem (and the evil)

creation ex nihilo.

Evolutionary theory is doing just fine, thanks. Contrary to the rants of the fundies (odd how it is only fundies who claim evolution is broken.)

The beginning of life itself, abiogenesis, of course occurred so long ago, 3.5 billion years, that there is no evidence left of the process, so we do have to speculate on that. Further back, the creation of the universe itself also represents an informational wall that we can't go beyond. But that doesn't make "God" the winning theory either because that doesn't explain where "God" came from. The problem of first causes isn't solved by adding yet another layer. Who created the universe? God? Who created God? etc etc etc

Example:

There is a Dog Food TV Commercial....from Purina....

It's about a 'guy' taking care of his little dog....

The first half-second of the commercial displays a blank screen with the words:

'Proud Mom'

Well, no, many evolutionists are having serious trouble with it. It doesn't surprise me that you haven't read any of that.

Michael Behe for only one example...

But it's no use arguing. You've already decided what's possible and what's not.

No, there is a small fundamentalist industry involved in making that claim, but no one in the real sciences now doubts the evolutionary theory.

Guess we could end up shouting "is not, is too" about this point till we're green in the face. No point arguing about who the "real scientists" are.

Now that they have been laughed out of court, suddenly the decided to do a little "investigating" in the physical world.

There's a court that's going to decide whether we came from apes or not? Yeah, they did a great job in deciding whether or not the life of the fetus is worthy of protection. But you may or may not agree with me on that.

They come in with an outcome in mind and use selective evidence to get there. They aren't convincing anyone but themselves and fellow true believers.

Scientists with a political agenda or some other motivation would never do that, would they? I'll buy that as soon as they make up their minds on whether or not we're warming the earth with our cars.

Evolution was discovered -- it wasn't a religious mandate.

It wasn't discovered by accident - every scientific theory begins with a hypothesis. The burden of proof is upon the scientist.

Evolution persists because the evidence for it is overwhelming.

Once again, we must agree to disagree. Lots of evidence for evolution that has been disproven remains in biology textbooks, and evidence contrary to evolutionary theory is omitted.

The ONLY people who disagree do so because they are instructed to do so by their Bible. Pure and simple.

Wrongo. And lots of people who agree do so because the press has placed evolutionary theory on the same "common knowledge" pedestal along with other gems like "abortion is a fundamental women's right and everybody agrees except misogynist religious fruitcakes," "J. Edgar Hoover was a cross-dressing homo," and "Clinton's impeachment was only about sex."

Honest discussion of certain issues is discouraged, even though they are far from settled. And the sheeple in this country are more worried about who's winning on Monday Night Football than whether they're being cheated by their government, or lied to by the press. They just accept what their newspaper or TV news tells them without reflecton or question. And the press gets away with deception on an Orwellian scale.

I used to try to reconcile evolutionary theory with creation theory by arguing that evolution was God's plan for creating man in his image. I'm no expert or scientist, but the deeper I dug, the more I was convinced that the idea that man is descended from monkeys is bunk.

It is a realistic, plausible and intellectually defensible comparison. It is time that the Republican party and true conservatives, in the mold of Barry Goldwater, stood up to these crazed Taliban-like intimidators in this country and reclaimed the mantle of conservatism for just, sane, red blooded Americans. Real conservatives, religious and non religious, straight and gay, male and female, black and white, do not have to buy into this cultist, twisted nonsense parading fraudelently as "morality."

Megadittos!!! :-)

many evolutionists are having serious trouble with it.

And their writings have appeared in which journals? Self-publication by pamphleteers hardly count for much. Oh, I forgot, there is a vast Satanic conspiracy to surpress the massive body of cretionistic evidence.

Normally I can sit back and chuckle as I read the postings of a froth-mouthed wild-eyed fanatic because frankly it amuses me, kind of like reading what the infinite number of monkeys cranked out on the ole' IBM Selectric before getting around to Shakespeare. But to quote Mickey Rooney "this time...I really must protest." Brain washing? A Great Conspiracy? Are you really that frightened of the world? Do you realize what your rantings look like to the rest of us? I have known many homosexuals in my life. As an evangelical heterosexual, I cannot even begin to fathom what they see in it (let me qualify that- Ellen Degeneres and Ann Hesche turned my crank, I admit it) but never was I frightened. At no point did I so question my own sexuality that I feared a plot to change it. No matter how many LOTR glasses Burger King cranks out with a gay actor on them, I shall remain heterosexual. You might want to consider coming out from behind all those left-over cases of ammo and lentils that you've got from Y2K, go outside, get some fresh air and chill the hell out.

Ooh, Mr. Ruggers, you should post that as a separate thread. That was as well-said as anything I've seen in a long time. Preach on, brother!

To Bible thumpers. No one else cares. This battle is lost, as was the battle against evolution, as was the battle against the earth centered universe, as was the battle against the spherical earth.

lol....fossil thumpers support anything that takes a dump on Christians . How promiscuous same-sex action promotes the survival of the species, they'll never know, but at least it ticks-off their shared enemy.....the Bible Thumper.

The only important battle has already been decided.

You guys crack me up.

Funny you should take it that way. Are you adopting the tactics of militant homosexuals now?
