the fact that "she" is a minister seems leftist to me and an afront to Timothy.

Read the passages in the
bible that pertain to
women in the church. I'm sure RevNAN would have some BS as to why it is Ok for her to be a pastor.

I ask this as a sincere question: Why do you stay in the Methodist denomination when there are other, larger denominations that are not opposed to our God-endowed liberty? Voting with your feet, as it were.

Aren't they pro-homosexuals also?I'd say so...
United Methodist General Board of Church and Society Decries
Supreme Court Decision Allowing Discrimination by Boy Scouts of
AmericaThe United Methodist Church, the largest single supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, strongly condemns discrimination based on sexual orientation. While the General Board of Church and Society would like to enthusiastically affirm and encourage this continuing partnership of the church and scouting, we cannot due to the Boy Scouts of Americas discrimination against gays.

I am seriously reflecting on that decision now. I think I am out of place among these people.

Ditto. This was very disturbing to me also. I am an active UMC member and (I thought) informed.
To: ZULU
I understand. I'm sure He'll direct you to the right decision.

You'd be surprised to know you have an orthodox little brother in free methodism - check it out
Here - It doesnt say anything about gun ownership - but we are to the right of UMC on most everything.
There is also a nice article on ordaining women - some here might choke at the concept, particularly as it relates to firearms ownership - but I dont hear my wife the Pastor complaining about the venison I brought home

Terminating these people from employment in the church would be harder than getting rid of a worthless union member. It would be best to achieve change through membership withdrawl.

Not true!

Please note in reply 28 that the statement is from the General Board of Church and Society. Most of the "liberal" crap you hear about is from this one group that is most likely a Communist front. They were also the ones supporting Castro in the Elian case. Unfortunately, you may not be aware of the rank and file position or even the General Conference which has stated the homosexual practice is NOT consistent with a Christian lifestyle. There are many more Methodist gun owners than gun control freeks.
