It seems to me that since the drop in fund raising is a direct result of 9/11, the democrats should apply to the red cross and 9/11 fund for relief as victims. I'm sure that both have more money than they know what to do with and both would have a very sypathetic ear. Plus, the dems can always pledge overnite stays at the lincoln bedroom for the directors of those charities, after they retake the white house.

Could anything be more plain? The democrats can't fund raise in the general population because the general public hates them, and it has nadda to do with 9-11 but their election theft of 2000.
And they can't win an election without vote fraud. They should be offered no help from special interest "soft money", because they themselves demanded these laws. They should get the picture that they are a dying party and go lay down till it's over instead of trying more tricks and asking for more breaks.

I thought John McCain said soft money was the number one issue. Wonder what he's going to say about this.

They could always ask for a government hand-out like the airlines and insurance companies.

IMHO the left wing of the democratic party had already driven off most of the moderates that were still left after the Clintons. What they are getting now is the backlash from 9/11. They are in the middle of death rales, and they know it. The Clinton faction is in firm control of the democratic party and they still believe that socialism will work (if, and only if they can administer it) The American people have been rudely slapped awake. We are paying attention now and we don't like what the democratic party has become.
Pre-9/11 all the manure that they put out might have worked. I doubt that they could have taken back the House pre-9/11, but they would have done some damage. Post 9/11 all their slow methodic move to socialism have gone straight down the toilet. They know this! So, they want to start changing the rules, all the rules! This no different from what they attempted (and are still moaning about) in FLA in the 2K election. These people are very dangerous when they are wounded and beaten. Watch them even closer now than we ever have. Short of armed insurrection (remember, we conservatives have all the guns) they will try anything.

Where are McCain and Feingold on this? If this were the RNC, they'd be hopping all over the TV screens by now.

Hey ho! First they bailed out the airlines, then they bailed out U.S. steel companies, then dozens of other private entities starting campaigning to get on the welfare roles, and now they're bailing out the Democrats! It's looking bearish on Wall St, but it's looking bullish in Washington. It must be, because the BULLS**T is really piling up.

The fact that the RNC had nothing to say about this confirms my already low opinion of their ability to challenge the Democrats effectively.

Terry McAuliffe must not be doing such a great job fundraising for the DNC - this whole article is about the democratics whining again - party first politics.
To: Native American Female Vet
No Problem - How about we make the RNC write the poor DNC guys a check for their lost revenue. Makes sense to me.
Why doesn't the DNC get with Hilliary and have a yard sale up there in Chapaqua. They could sell all the stuff she stole outa the white house. Or the DNC could let Hilliary invest some of their cash in CATTLE futures.

It was just pointed out to me (THANKS) that it was the FCC, not the FEC, who suspended the equal time requirement last election.
But perhaps that is why the FEC turned down the DNC request.
