Right its my turn, ex boring man warns of the dangers of not taking drugs , not rogering everyone you can get hold of as if your life depends on it, not indulging in satanic witches orgy and every other high sort of living. Because by not doing these things you dont end up with a lucrative deal making fat wads of cash in your later life, talking about what a great time you had while warning of the pitfalls that you were clever enough to avoid. Great post!

The writer is referring to mastery of training courses, not of telepathy and time travel. Yes, but what were the training courses on? Telepathy and time travel, among other things. If the author really "mastered the training courses" for these items, she could have gone back in time and used telepathy to prevent J.K. Rowling from writing the evil Harry Potter books!

Seems to me the author's point was that she was a part of this whole new age/occultist industry.
She describes herself as "a former New Age "healer" and advanced yoga practitioner" who was "in the business of the new science of the mind."
Her ironic tone indicates she didn't actually believe in the "arts" --telepathy, necromancy, geomancy, time travel, etc.-- she was "teaching."
So I see no justification for your or ctdonath2's distortion of her meaning.

Macbeth
Midsummer Night's Dream
The Chronicles of Narnia
The Once and Future King
Alice in Wonderland
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
The Sorcerer's Apprentice from "Fantasia"
Bedknobs and Broomsticks
Mary Poppins
Cinderella
Where was the ouotcry over these titles? There are too many to mention. The Harry Potter critics are using the popularity of the series to propel themselves into the limelight.
Have you read the Potter books? Or are you simply following along blindly?

This is funny. Freepers using a "born-again" New Ager to make their arguments. If this "born-again" New Ager decided to condemn the war in Afghanistan and President Bush, the same Freepers would be all over this guy, saying "Why should we listen to some idiot New Ager?"

....may I introduce myself as a former New Age "healer" and advanced yoga practitioner. ..
I like that the author of the piece helpfully explains that he has been insane for a long time and did not just recently lose his marbles.

My thoughts exactly.

As magic is to fantasy, so miracles are to our very unhealed world. This is an illogical statement and makes no sense. Fastasy is an illusion. The author just spent many paragraghs insisting magic is real. Read above where she states, "Potter magic is all too real and all too harmful."
Her ending paragraph should instead stress the truth that magic is the (much) lower consciousness form of miracles. Words and thoughts and actions are powerful. Miracles heal our world continuously.
...the flying saints, like Teresa of Avila or Teresita de los Andes? ...Padre Pio or St. Faustina?...fantastically efficacious prayers that heal and deliver.
Yes...and Christ.

I was very surprised to see Wicca being touted and witchcraft flouted on "Buffy, the Vampire Killer" on TV. Lots of violence and weird stuff there. Is that dangerous to young minds? (Just a query, no need to flame)

"Having read the books myself, there is NOTHING in these books to seriously contradict Christianity per se. After all, note that at Hogwarts they do celebrate Christmas and Easter very clearly."
That's one of the problems I have with the series. The HP world is not a little world drawn from the imagination that exists outside of our world. The celebration of Christmas and Easter presume that Christianity is around, yet HP is all about witchcraft (albeit cute little witches flying around on brooms). The bible (ya' know......the idea behind Christmas and Easter?) clearly forbids witchcraft.

We walk on a real world soil covered with the blood of millions and millions of aborted children, the ultimate victims of attachment disorder. And yet we remain in consummate denial, remaining addicted to a violent media, occult gaming and books like Harry Potter.
The irresponsible still do not make this connection, do they.
No. They don't. They've killed their babies for so long, they're now willing to kill their parents.
To: WyldKard
Well, if we went back to the old way of dealing with them; there wouldn't be as many. Would there?

Damning someone to EVERLASTING and ETERNAL burning isn't exactly what we call the act of a loving parent,It's not the parents doing the damning. They warn against; it's up to the kids to stand or fall on their own.

Thank you for posting this. I read all four of the Harry Potter books, and now my local farmers are struggling to keep me supplied with sacrificial goats. The Devil does not accept substitutes.
