Anthrax info was trickled out one drop at a time, one drop a day over three weeks in an effort to minimize panic.

The anthrax info developed as it was discovered. Only in your conspiratorial delusions is there some entity that knows everything right away and supresses it.

If I were in their shoes, I may do the same thing.

At what cost in terms of passenger lives? I think the gov't should level with us.

hmm so if everyone here suddenly lost their brakes/stalled/blew a tire on a mountain road, the first thing they would do is call a tow truck on their cell phone?

is as easy as opening your mouth and speaking

That'll be the case of the voice cockpit recorder.

They do actually have to key a mike to talk, although the button is right there on the stick. A voice activated mike would be needed to just speak, but then everything the pilot said would be broadcast. First instinct would not be to key the mike, first instinct would be to fly.

Why would he dump his fuel without making a distress call? If a hijacker burst through the cockpit door, he might try that, but then how do you explain the explosion? If there was a bomb on board, he wouldn't dump the fuel.

Do you think it was a Stinger? Would the pilot try to dump the fuel so the missile wouldn't make such a big explosion?

Communicating is easy but when every fiber of your being is focused on staying alive, it's not the most important thing to do. Pilots are taught from the get-go to fly first and communicate second. Even though I have never had a problem that can even remotely compare with what A300 pilots did, there have been a number of times when my communication with ATC was delayed by more pressing needs in the cockpit.

There is a Jihad declared against America. The ostriches don't want to believe it yet.

When the Oklahoma City federal building blew up, Daniel Pipes immediately said "you have to understand [middle-eastern terrorists] are obsessed with us"

Everything that happens is not necessarily terror.

Sounds great. Except for one thing. How does a bomb in baggage knock off a wing and the tail? Wouldn't there have been baggage all over the place? Try again.

I dont know how some of you people are able to leave your house, it must be a major trauma since the boogeyman is out there. yes we are at war, yet some things, that happened before, will continue to happen. its up to sane people to seperate accidents and attacks.

If there was a bomb on board, he wouldn't dump the fuel.

several Posters have declared that the A300 CANNOT dump fuel. Thye only possibility is that fuel in Jamaica Bay was jettisoned from the wing fuel tank.

My personal theory is that someone got access to the plane long before takeoff and planted an altitude-triggerred bomb inside the wing, next to the fuel tank where it would not be discovered.

I have a hard time believing that the Jihad on America and this exploding plane are coincidence. Call me a nut.

IMHO...

Fuel dump and no contact with the tower? This doesn't wash. Again...too much information from the wrong sources.

If you dumped your fuel to return, wouldn't YOU let the tower know you were returning?

Anyway, all this is moot if it is true that the A300 cannot dump fuel.

Pataki's statement about the fuel dump was probably a sophmoric attempt at crowd control. I still remember Keith Olberman the night that the Monica scandal broke telling a few apologists "Thanks for helping us get a handle on this thing."

Which may or may not be true. The salient point is that in either case a CONSPIRACY to surpress the truth is not evident except in some delusional minds -- or so says my source who had a brother who's wife's sister saw someone on the grassy knoll.

You guys make the Art Bell show sound like the Journal of American Science.
