Take yourself back 60 years, to November, 1941. Britain was at war then with an horrific foe (just like today). The BBC was proud to serve as the propaganda arm of the British government, and rightly so. It's broadcasts to occupied Europe gave hope to millions of conquered people.
Today, the BBC serves as a propaganda arm of the enemy. It's broadcasts offer hope to the horrific foe and serve to frighten the home population. We (the west) have some housecleaning to do.
