Where do you think communism came from? It was just implanted in the human psyche from birth?

Unless he repents, he sure is.

If some people don't like Potter, let them not like it. It doesn't mean they are a nut or fuitcake. Wrong. Lunacy needs to be exposed. You Potter bashers, post me a direct connection to reading Harry Potter to a child going bad.
Post one.

"Wrong. Lunacy needs to be exposed. You Potter bashers, post me a direct connection to reading Harry Potter to a child going bad. Post one" They'll be happy to make up a story for you. Give em a few minutes! ;-)

Knowing the media's fondness for bashing Christians, I'd be interested in finding out whether Christians/Catholic priests/nuns are portrayed negatively in the Harry Potter books. Anybody know? Based on what I remember of the books, Christians weren't portrayed at all, either positively or negatively.

Where do you think communism came from? It was just implanted in the human psyche from birth? Yeah, and drilled over, and over again. Also, it took the entire Soviet apparatus to maintain it. And in the end, it still couldn't survive.
This is fantasy fiction fad that will soon be replaced by the next fad.

LOL!!! People like you are the reason I converted to Buddhism. Richard Gere didn't do it for you?

The difference in comparing for example " The Wizard of Oz" and the likes to Harry Potter, is that nowhere did they (Wizard of Oz) use actual real witchraft and Satanic names and spells. From what I've seen of the Harry Potter series, The Wicked Witch of the West would smoke that poor boy over open coals and feed him to her flying monkeys.
Books do not encourage children to read - parents and teachers do! but "books *do* teach witchcraft" = selective reasoning

Any thoughts on Rumplestiltskin (sp?)? I understand that story was treated in the same manner then as Harry Potter is today. And no, I'm not kidding.

I thought Rumpelstilskin was an old story. Wasn't it one of the tales collected by the brothers Grimm?

I don't want that stuff pushed at my kid.
Probably the way many atheist parents feel about prayer in schools.
These are "fantasy" books. If your kids wants to read Harry Potter, and they, for whatever reason(?), cannot tell that the books are a complete work of fiction, then I suppose it is your job as a parent to tell them otherwise.
As to adults who can't tell the difference, I'm sure if you ask those same adults who think they'll get GAP gift certificates, if magical brooms and gnomes are real, and I'll bet you'll get a resounding "NO!".
I don't want to ever see a kid ridiculed for anything. Being a kid is though enough. I am sorry if this is happening to your kid.
To: JRadcliffe
Did I ever say one thing about keeping adults from reading this book? No. Did I ever say anything about banning this book? no? Stop hiding behind the bill of rights, you don't understand it.

The fool that wrote this has NO clue what Wicca actually is. Devil worship? Spells? Cavorting with Demons?
Come on, GIVE ME A FRICKING BREAK!!! Wicca doesn't have anything to do with any of this and wouldn't have anything to do with it. Any magic used comes from within, not without, This person shows his ignorance of what Wicca is and has been.
You wanna call it satan worship, or Magik, that's fine, but keep the Wicca thing out of it, Because that IS NOT what Wicca is!!
Wiccans don't even believe in the devil, let alone Demons, quit throwing Wiccans into the same mold as Satan Worshippers and practitioners of Magik. Wiccans would have NOTHING to do with such NUTS!!!
And by the way, in Wicca, there are no warlocks or wizards, male or female, they are called WICCANS, and when Joking around with others not of the faith, they will call themselves Witches, just to see the look they will obviously get.

I just wonder what kind of stupid person believes in witchcraft?
Do you believe in Unicorns? Do you believe in Fairies?
Do you believe you need help? I don't intend to ever read
Harry Potter but I really enjoyed the Alvin Maker books!
