Thank you and others here for saying what I couldn't say quickly enough.
Jim's rules are: no profanity, no personal attacks, no racism or violence in posts...although not all of these have been broached, and I have a pretty sick feeling in my stomach right now. Mean-spirited posts like some of these on this thread make me embarrassed to be a Freeper. What on earth does Rosies weight have to do with anything? Your comments have the potential to reach every woman on this board. Most of us have spent years trying to teach our daughters and ourselves that the outside package does not represent the whole woman.
The sexual references voiced here fall under profanity in my book- to include our president and vice president in the crude comments is incredibly disrespectful.
I stick my neck out here and invite anyone who would like to join our cause, regardless of their past. Isn't that part of what this site is all about? If we rip to shreds our guests or our learkers- anyone here who is finally or has finally understood what the Republican party stands for, and what the conservative agenda is we would like to see implemented, then we have become as vindictive and narrow-minded as the opposition.
In the tradition of President Bush, we welcome all nations who would like to be with us for any length of time they will stand by our side. If they drop out, we will continue to stay on our course. We welcome the Rosies and anyone else who will join us, if they change in later days, we will still stay on course. I am not going to spend my time second-guessing everyone who has a change of heart. David Horowitz was once a raging liberal...I'm glad o one ran him off.

She said earlier this week on her show that she was rapidly becoming a conservative Republican--due to the recent news events. Don't know about Rosie but you know what they say about conservatives? A conservative is a liberal that has been mugged by reality.

I also believe that anybody who adopts a bunch of children has to have a good heart. She has such a good heart she gave one of them back because he was a pain in her huge ass.
She is playing the American public for a bunch of suckers, saying she supports Bush because she doesn't want to be despised by 100% of Americans instead of the usual 60%.
I hear Clinton and algore are going to say they love Bush tomorrow.
Pathetic how some people will lie to save themselves.

Rosie says she loves Bush? Well, what my wife and I do is our own business. . .

...she told Hollywood to put their money where their mouths were.Yes she did. She also added that, including herself, made such an "obscene" amount of money, there were many of her fellow entertainers who could afford a very large contribution starting at $1,000,000.

They have gotten her, and now Geraldo too. They're coming after us next. Be afraid. Be very afraid. Oh, man, the DUers must be going nuts!

"Roastie O'Fatpig can NOT mean President Bush."
Jerk. I'm no fan of Rosie, but with "friends" like you, the Republican Party will never make converts.

Maybe she's changed her mind about guns, too?

EVERYONE DO NOT FALL FOR IT! How could she have an honest political 360 in a day? I dont trust her any farther than I can toss her. And no one on earth could push her an inch.

Look.....I'm going to be adopting children from a Russian orphanage soon, so I have done quite a bit of research on RAD (Reactive Attachment Disorder). While I'm generally no fan of the psychobabble establishment, RAD and other related disorders are very real. Children who suffer from severe RAD are extremely emotionally unstable and a danger to other children in the family. From what I understand, Rosie's foster child was extremely disturbed.
I'm prepared to support my adopted kids for better or worse, but if one should become violent, he will be supported by us in a residential treatment facility.

I think her audience was only half full. Only 1 out of 10 would show up! What would you do if your ratings fell through the floor? Join the other 90%. But as soon as this is over, back to the old ways. Keep an eye open and watch your back!

"She has such a good heart she gave one of them back because he was a pain in her ..."
I'm fat. I'm fat because I'm sick and I have substantial orthopedic problems, and probably because I inherited "fat" genes and by jim dandangy I love FOOD. If I were a prominent person, I would be lampooned on DU exactly as people are lampooning Rosie here. I cannot believe what has happened to me in the last six years. I was once quite pretty--never beautiful, I guess, but pretty. I don't suppose everyone who is making fun of her on the basis of her physical LOOKS would be too happy being on TV for all the liberal world to mock. Some of you could, no doubt. Me, I avoid cameras, probably because there aren't enough people like Rosie who are capable of shrugging off the criticism.
I don't like Rosie much because of her stand on 2nd Amendment rights and because she insists on singing on her show. Truly, I cannot stand her show and have only watched about twenty minutes total. But you know, she can BECOME conservative, learn to shoot, and limit her singing to the shower, and then I'd probably like her quite a bit. Do you understand what I'm saying here?
Adoption is INCREDIBLY risky, especially when you're adopting an older child who has been abused. When I gave birth to my three babies, I had some idea that I was adding people to my family with whom I would be somewhat compatible. I had a hunch they'd recognize and respect my natural authority over them. I knew that God had a hand in their placement in my family, and I wasn't going out on THAT much of a limb. That said, I was completely unprepared for the fact that they are INDIVIDUALS. They have different personalities, different responses to discipline, and it takes quite a bit of flexibility and patience on my part to deal with them.
If I were a healthy person, I probably would STILL not have the courage to cope with adopting someone else's older kid. I wouldn't feel up to the task. I'd be fearful of some harm coming to my three "born babies." And I'd be terribly afraid of being CRITICIZED if it didn't work out! What do you do when you adopt or take in as foster child someone whom you cannot handle after all? Someone who endangers the other children you are charged with protecting? What a hard thing to have to admit. I tried, but I could not save this child. The best people would be those who admit it and give the child a chance to move on to someone who could deal with the child's problems.
Some kids really, truly don't work out in even the best foster and adoptive homes. Some kids act out sexually, or violently, because of things in their past that nobody can undo. I am quite willing to criticize Rosie for stands she's publically taken. But if she had a child in her home whom she couldn't discipline, who endangered her other children or who threatened the peace of her household, how she had to deal with it is HER heartbreak and HER private business.
To: Rome2000
...she gave one of them back.Yes, I heard the child turned out to have sever psychological problems and was totally uncontrollable and was always in a rage. It was thought the mother could have had a sever drug problem. One of the advantages of adopting I guess. You can always return the damaged goods.
To: jlogajan
By the way, is that Ellen Degeneres under Rosie's armpit??? It couldn't be Ellen DeGeneres because I just read in the newspaper that she drowned.
Yeah, they found her face down in Riki Lake!!!...LOL

Geraldo wants to cover this war "that we have to win" and he wants to be a reporter not an anchor. He'll join Harrigan and the chick whose name escapes me at the moment.
To: Otto von Bismark
It will take me a few years to really believe this if it is true.

There are a few very tragic Soviet adoption stories. I assume you've investigated the circumstances of their infant care. I'm sure you have checked into it.
