"This is my opinion for what President Bush said " This is going to be a long war."

You both have made excellent points in your replies.
God Bless You Both!

PS Just goes to show you that the family that rants together, stays together! LOL

"It is a good thing that Iran seems to want to co-operate in this affair; but I would keep an eagle eye on them. Our enemy's enemy is not necessarily our friend."

Iran's enemy's enemy is not necessarily their friend.

Heh heh.

Now that we are in 'position' to run a sleeper mission on Saddam Hussein, why would this extend the war? I doubt Bush has any intentions on evicting the anti-American Muslims from the U.S.

A couple of questions that are scratching at the back of my small brain is "The Internment Camps on U.S. Soil?". We have them, what is the intent of them, who will be placed in them, will it happen during this 'long war'?

The war on terrorism has to be a continuous attack on terrorism. It will only end when terrorism is not a threat to the world anymore.

We have to treat it as firefighters treat a fire. They put it out but there are flair ups here and there, which can be addressed easily at that time.

I have no idea about internment camps. I didn't know about them.I believe you, but I just did not know about them. Maybe they are for the New World Order when it is put in fast forward at anytime for those that object. Not sure.

We are in a war and we had best start understanding it pretty quickly. He who screws up in combat dies and gets his buddies killed. On September 11, 2001 we were given notice that we are all on the front lines. September 11, 2001 was the day of awakining. If we go back to sleep it will be our fault what happens.

Right now we are still in the position of the squad over-trained to strict "peacekeeping" ROE, who are now walking into VC territory waving flashlights and smoking and joking.

If we don't put on our war face soon, we are goig to lose this thing right here on the homefront.

Internment camps....

For ME'ers?

For those who will be forced into mass isolation thanks to bio-terror results?

Constitutionally minded patriots?

I've posted snips from an article on a couple of threads, about sodom hussein, STILL having bio-weapons and how he avoided detection.

There will have to be a nationwide gun gathering first. That will be quite bloody.

? Would the U.S. occupy Iraq and assume the task of creating a democratic state from the ruins of an authoritarian dictatorship?

Yes, that's the one. Just like in Japan and Germany. Let's have to guts to do the right thing again. First squash the government, nukes OK if necessary, and then, set up a new government that resects people's rights, so they aren't so grumpy. problem is, we're too damn lazy!

Bush, Cheney and others have warned this will take a very long time. First things first.

Make Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda into a lesson. Next, Iraq. Likely Sudan.

By then, some other hot spots will, likely, occur. But also by then, nations capable of sanity, will have studied the lesson; "Support terrorists, at your large peril."

This allows Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Syria, Pakistan, Indonesia, Philippines etc. some time for making a thorough, careful analysis of their future prospects. With threat of military, diplomatic, trade consequences, many will decide correctly.
