Libya hopes to make further investments in Italy after taking a stake in newly-privatised Banca di Roma, Libyan central bank governor Tahar Jehimi was quoted as saying on Thursday. "Services, health and telecommunications are the sectors which interest us, apart of course from energy,'' Jehimi said in an interview with the daily newspaper La Repubblica. The Libyan Arab Foreign Bank took a five percent interest and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and the Jeddah-based National Commercial Bank a combined eight percent in Banca di Roma, Italy's second largest banking group. ".....I would strongly urge, as well, that the Congress look carefully at the means whereby countries like Libya obtain the financing by which they can buy chemical weapons-related facilities. It seems quite likely that allied banks and companies have made such procurements possible through their credit arrangements with and/or deposits in the Libyan Arab Foreign Bank. Swift action aimed at denying the Libyans such sources of revenue could have a dramatic effect on their ability to proceed with a CW program....."
Did you mean to refer to reply #47 rather than #46? More than five years earlier than Oct. 1999 (date of article) would put the time frame range at between September 1993 to September 1994.
...While the Arab Bank remains the giant, the revamped Housing Bank (HB) is giving it a run for the money. Since the Housing Bank law was repealed earlier this year HB has started to operate as a fully commercial entity. It has already doubled its capital to JD 50 million and in July it received an overwhelming response from Arab shareholders for a private offering of 25 million shares.
Buyers included the Libyan Arab Foreign Bank and Khaled Bin Mahfouz of Saudi Arabia, each taking 7.5 million shares. The Kuwait Real Estate Company snapped up 8.5 million shares, lifting its holding to 27.5 per cent. The sale attracted $ 200 million in foreign investment into Jordan and has boosted HB's liquidity by JD 135 million.....

How about Med-Emerg International?
And my all time fvorite, Hybridon!

Surely,it's not good when the bad guys own two walk-in emergency clinics at Pearson Toronto Airport!
How wrong to have these people owning huge chunks of Canadas health system?
How about them having computer-telemedicne hookups to hospitals like Johns Hopkins and Cleveland Clinic?

For the past eighteen months, the TPLF regime has been flirting with the NIF in Khartoum and propping up "Eritrean Jihad" terrorist groups."TPLF WILL NOT HEED SOFT TALK BUT WILL WOBBLE UNDER PRESSURE," Embassy of Eritrea (Washington, DC), Africa News Service, January 12, 2000.Moreover, Sheikh Al-Amoudi, the TPLF's main financier who owns large monopolistic enterprises in Ethiopia through "joint venture" arrangements with that group, is reported to have solid "links with Bin Laden providing the latter more than three million USD in protection money." (USA Today, 29 October 1999) It is thus the TPLF regime which is today deeply embroiled with fundamentalist and extremist groups.
I dont know how to post a whole story.
"Saudi Elite Linked To Bin Laden Financial Empire".
Its got all the players in it!
Even Hybridon!
I am sorry if what I wrote sounded too picky about which reply you meant.
I make many typos all the time and I appreciate when others correct the mistakes for me since I do not always catch them myself. Next time I will send you a private reply.
I really do like what you post and what you write.
BTTT
Wonder if they are mixed up in:
ETHIOPIA
Flight Simulator Certification (TA) $100,000: TDA provided a grant to Ethiopian Airlines to allow the carrier to the Federal Aviation Administration's costs of certifying the Boeing 767 and 757 flight simulators used for training by a variety of African and Middle Eastern airlines'. (FY 1998)
Thanks for the flag and for remembering.
But let me clarify. It was not so much a theory of mine own brain but a comment that I had picked up from an Albanian businessman who had recently lived in Khartoum. He told me that the aspirin factory was unprofitable and uninsurable. He said that it was bombed so that the owners would get reparations from the US taxpayers. I thought that was far fetched and I stored it away in memory until I heard that Vernon Jordan represented the owners.
The Clinton connection makes it possible. I also remember that Louis Freeh was pissed off that Clinton let the bombs fly while Freeh was in the neighborhood investigating the embassy bombings. It cut short the investigation.
Bin Laden and Clinton couldn't have been serving each others needs could they?
Check out all the World Bank and IMF $$$$$$$
