TED MAHER--DOMINICK DUNNE DISCOVERS DREYFUSS-- Monaco has wrongly held American Green Beret veteran TED MAHER 762 days without trial as its scapegoat for the suspicious death of billionaire banker Edmond Safra December 3, 1999.
Monaco seized and held TED MAHER in four-point restraint, catheterized, sleep-deprived, beaten for THREE DAYS to extort a FALSE CONFESSION pre-typed, in French, which Ted does not read, write or speak.
Monaco also KIDNAPPED Ted's wife Heidi, STOLE HER U.S. PASSPORT and threatened to detain her indefinitely, and THREATENED THEIR THREE SMALL CHILDREN to force Ted to sign their false confession.

Anna & Mercuria, thanks again for having Heidi as a guest. You two lovely ladies have done a great service toward the goal of getting the Freepers rallied en masse behind Ted. Typing words about it here at FR can only do so much. Actually hearing the story in Heidi's own words is a much better way to convey the injustice that Ted is enduring just because Monaco needs a scapegoat. Now if only Bill O'Reilly would take notice...
This is an outrage, and frankly, I can't imagine the nightmare this must be for his family. Just thinking about it makes my blood boil.
...the cause is such a just one this O'Reilly would be foolish letting it slip-by.
I think back to the great tete-a-tete between our chief cultural busybodies:
KING: You're on a thing now with this Safra case, right?

KING: He died of asphyxiation in a fire, right?
DUNNE: In a penthouse in Monte Carlo. This is an amazing story. I mean, there's -- I have no solution to this. I don't know. I don't know what...

DUNNE: He was -- well, he -- died by asphyxiation. He couldn't get out. He didn't wish to come out of that bathroom. It's a really fascinating story. He was one of the richest men in the world. He had become a citizen of Monaco the day before this happened. He was a man who had 12 guards trained by the Mossad with him at all time, and not one of them was on duty that night.
He had this -- he had a lot of nurses, and he had this one nurse on duty who lit the fire this night -- very confusing thing. A toilet paper fire that was lit by a scented candle, and he held it up to the fire alarm system, because he said that there were two intruders there, and he wanted to attract attention. That guy is called Ted Maher, from Stormville, New York, an American, is in jail now in Monaco, and he's been there for 18, 19 months. No date for a trial has been set. I happen not to believe that he is the sole person response [sic] for this. There's just too many strange things.
KING: You think he's involved, but not solely involved.
DUNNE: He certainly admits to having lit the fire. And -- but the story that he -- you've got to remember that they got the confession out of him. He was wounded. Whether he wounded himself or was wounded is a moot point. And he signed the confession in a language he didn't speak. They had his wife's passport and said they wouldn't let her out of Monaco to get back to the kids. It was a very strange thing.

The Geneva chief prosecutor said Safra was killed for cooperating with the FBI in the laundering through his Republic Bank of $4.8 billion in IMF loans to Russia--and Ted slipped a piece of paper to U.S. Consulate official Patricia Feitz on which he'd written "Russian-Italian", while whispering, "What I do, I do for the safety of my family."
Henry Kissinger called Safra's suspicious death a "cold, vindictive act".
Ann Williamson, author of Contagion, emailed me she'd thought Ted Maher a scapegoat from the moment she first read of Safra's death.
Above we have Dunne telling King six and a half months ago of his own doubts and suspicions, but King shows no interest, moving back to the book.
No one is allowed to write to or speak with Ted Maher except his two Monaco-puppet lawyers, Georges Blot and Donald Manasse. The Monaco system puts the investigating magistrate (Judge d'Instruction) in charge of investigating and trying the case. In Ted's case, Judge d'Instruction Patricia Richet received an unprecedented reappointment to her three-year position [we are told by Profonde Gorge] because she is "obedient to the police". Richet was observed hugging Lily and is known to have regularly shouted at Ted, "I know that you are guilty!" [While tearing up letters from his children.] Yet, astonishingly, Richet has run off to Paris and the case has lost its judge--with no trial date set in the third year of Ted's imprisonment.
Ted has said the scented candle (made and sold by Laura Slatkin, who got Ted the job) was necessary because police didn't respond to emergency calls--which cannot be either proven or disproven as the police have "lost" their emergency call tapes for December 3, 1999! (Yet, wonder of wonders, they can provide tapes for December 2 and December 4.)
Monaco holds all the cards--yet refuses to put them on the table. It can only mean it's a losing hand.
