I'm going to re-examine how I hide topics. The old way was database intensive.

Could say the same about Internut Exploder, though it does most of the things the way I like it from Nutscape 4.7.

Each time you request a web page, your web browser makes a conection to the web server. It's a brief connection, open long enough for your browser to ask for a web page and the server to return it. It then closes.

For some reason, the server appears to be dropping that connection too earlier. I'm not yet sure why.

(I'm not taking into account advanced concepts like keep-alive. This is a simple example.)

If you need to download it again to edit it, you can get it as a text/css document at http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/css

You can delete it by hitting "Reset" on the upload form.

There will eventually be a much better interface. This is mostly a technical preview.

Did I mention Exploder is a headache? :-)

The only browser that appears to behave correctly is Mozilla. However, what is the definition of "correctly" if 98% of the existing browsers do it differently?

Thanks. I'm not up to speed on this stuff. Most of the HTML I learned, I learned the first week I was here.

I hope you can find it in your heart to bring back MARQUEE. :-)

Exhibit A: Dennisw's classic just doesn't look right without motion...

There is some odd problem with Netscape and italics...

John, the Netscape/italics oddity has ALWAYS been a problem -- it's not new. Netscape users have complained forever about italics being left on, but ONLY THEY can see them. Neither IE nor Netscape ever figured it out. :-)

Would have to disagree there. The current version of Mozilla appears to be something close to Nutscape 6.
