This is terrific, AS! thank you for writing it. Vigilianteman, you're right about Canada. People here are grieving with us but they're not as excited about our response. I'm a writer & this weekened I wrote an article about that & submitted it to the paper here--if it gets printed, I'll post it.

Whatever happened to ONE?

Please note in the author's statement of purpose the following line. "But the Battle Hymn is a song rooted in a bitter fratricidal war, it is a song of division."

I don't understand the question. There was some screwup on the site a few minutes ago - if that's what you are referring to. Seems ok now.

"But the Battle Hymn is a song rooted in a bitter fratricidal war, it is a song of division." It is a song of division for those who still want it to be.
Me? I'm OK with this new version. The melody is still the same, which is what I like about the Battle Hymn.
No doubt somebody will get their back up over this one too, though.

It will continue to be a song of division as long as the official version of the history of the war of seccession is a lie.

"The bitter struggle to come."
We are five and a half years on from those words, and it has indeed been bitter. The combat against savage barbarians has been a trial by fire, though possibly not as bad as many predicted, but the real bitterness results from the weakness, mendacity, and outright treason of many in our own country.
The sunshine patriots and summer soldiers are gone, as Thomas Paine might say, but the traitors and weaklings have revealed themselves in all their satanic power and ruthless will, and their fate will be ordained accordingly.
With the will to continue flagging in many quarters, I thought it might be appropriate to post this again.
This is a war for the ages, it will go on until the last terrorist savage is dragged from his hole and killed and the last traitor is reduced to begging for scraps and living under bridges.
"...he which hath no stomach to this fight, Let him depart" Shakespeare, Henry V, Act 4, Scene 3
