Thank you Phil and SAM for the added content and pictures on the Squalus thread yesterday. You guys are good!

About learning to swim...

When I was very young I lived for a time in a motel with my mother in Vegas. The motel had a pool. The rule was that I wasn't allowed to test the water for temperature with my foot (for fear I would think it too cold and chicken out).

If I wanted to go in I had to go off the deep end short diving board, sink or swim. LOL. I learned to swim early in that heat.

That's the best way to go into the water. At Lake Michigan when I was a kid we just took a mad dash into the water and then flopped down.

I 'learned' to swimm via swim mask and snorkel.
Give me those items, and I'm a fish.
Swimming circles around everyone else like a barracuda.
(Once I could hold my breath for rouighly 3 minutes. Can't do that anymore. 1:32 is the longest now...)

Without a swim mask and snorkel, I'm a land lubber.

Yikes, three minutes.

I've never snorkeled, but I can swim. ;)

Snorkeling is fun.
I can't do the three minute deal anymore.
Seems I was only able to do that when I was 13.

I loved snorkeling, and could dive to investigate stuff.
Unless soe young woman jumped into the water directly where I was hovering in the water. (Semi-long embarrassing story.)
Been looking for a good snorkel and mask set for future reference.
